Chicago Med provided lots of romance in season 8. We got to see April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) and Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) tie the knot in dramatic fashion, and the season finale saw Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) decide to move to Seattle to be with Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto).
DeVitto returned for the finale after a long time away from the show, but the romance seemed to have rubbed off on her. The actress took to Instagram to announce that she’s engaged to her long time boyfriend Jared LaPine! The post included photos of the proposal and a lengthy caption that detailed what happened.
“Earlier this month at 5 pm on a weekday while walking the back trails at the farm”, DeVitto wrote. “Still in my PJs and goat boots, he got down on one knee, in what I hoped wasn’t poison ivy, and asked for forever… My answer is obvious.”
LaPine also hopped on social media to share the good news. “On September 1st, I got engaged to my best friend”, he added. “Now I get to spend every single day as the luckiest man in the world. I love you more than anything and everything.” According to Us Weekly, DeVitto and LaPine met through the former’s cousin. They made their relationship Instagram official in June.

LaPine also has Hollywood ties. He directed the 2019 short film The One That Likes You starring Lukas Gage, and worked as a production assistant and assistant production coordinator on the Disney Channel series K.C. Undercover from 2016 to 2018.
