David McCallum’s death has impacted millions of NCIS fans. The actor was a steady and reliable presence on the show over the last 20 years, so it makes sense that the people he acted next to would be feeling the loss as well.

Mark Harmon, Michael Weatherly and Pauley Perrette have already posted tributes to McCallum, and now Wilmer Valderrama has done the same. Valderrama, who joined NCIS as Torres in season 14, posted a photo of him and McCallum on the set, with a heartfelt caption that read:

"“David, what an immense honor it was to share the screen with you. Your professionalism and ability to effortlessly take every one of us on a journey through your art will be felt forever. I will miss you my friend.”"

This is not the first time that Valderrama has sung the praises of his fellow co-stars. He posted a behind the scenes video to Instagram in April, where he gushed about the writers and actors who make NCIS possible.

“I’m just really, really proud of this crew”, he explained. “So to my crew, I love you. To my writers, thank you for the work. To every director that touched every episode, that you for your direction, your kindness and your patience and to my co-stars, you guys know how I feel about you. We’re a team and most importantly we’re a family.”

Valderrama is one of the few actors who is still a regular cast member who spoke on McCallum’s passing. Harmon, Weatherly, and Perrette have all left the show, and given that McCallum was set to appear in the upcoming season, there has been widespread speculation as to what they will do with the character’s story. Nothing has been set in stone yet, but we do know that the actor was unable to film any new scenes, and will therefore not appear.
