Jamie Reagan and Eddie Janko are the definitive Blue Bloods couple. There have been other romances that have come and gone, but we’ve gotten to watch these two characters fall in love, experience hardship, and come out the other end stronger over the course of the show. Part of the appeal of Jamie and Eddie is the writing, of course, but the other part of it is the genuine chemistry of the actors playing them.

The chemistry between Will Estes and Vanessa Ray is so convincing, in fact, that many fans have asked whether the actors are romantically involved in real life. Are they married? Did they date at some point during the making of the show? Let’s discuss.

Are Will Estes and Vanessa Ray dating?

Estes and Ray are not dating, and have never actually been romantically involved. The former has, however, dated several notable TV actresses over the years. Estes was in a relationship with Party of Five star Jennifer Love Hewitt in 2004, and he briefly dated Chicago Med star Torrey DeVitto in 2020. Estes has not gone public with any relationships since then, however.

Ray has also been involved with an actor. She was married to Parks & Recreation star Derek James from 2003 to 2009, but their union ended in divorce. In 2015, the actress announced that she was engaged to her longtime boyfriend Landon Beard, and they married in June of that year.

Estes and Ray have never been romantic, but the two actors are good friends and attribute a lot of their onscreen chemistry to how well they get along. The latter reflected on this dynamic during a 2022 interview with The Nerds of Color:

"“My mom came to set early on, they gave her the headphones and stuff, and she said, ‘Do you realize that you two never stop talking?’ I was like, ‘What?’ She goes, ‘No one else, no other actors. Everyone else takes a minute, they sit’, we talked the whole time. I was like, I never really realized that we talked the whole time. There was never a lull in a conversation, none of that, even when we would have disagreements about things or whatever, we would just we would talk it out and there was never really a break.”"

Nobody’s who watched the show is surprised, of course. Estes and Ray are two of the main reasons the show continues to draw us in, and we can’t wait to see what their characters get up to when Blue Bloods returns in 2024.
