Is there a more beloved couple on One Chicago than Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) and Mouch (Christian Stolte)? It’s a rhetorical question: the answer is no. These two are foundational to the appeal of both Chicago PD and Fire, and their unfussy, often comical relationship a nice change of pace on shows that have more than enough romantic drama.

Well, generally speaking. The last episode of Fire season 11 saw Mouch get shot, and the episode ended with the pretty ominous suggestion that he might not make it. The notion of not only losing Mouch, but a relationship that has come to be a source of comfort for fans, is a little stressful, so we decided to look back on a more optimistic part in the Trudy and Mouch story: their wedding.

When did Trudy and Mouch get married on Chicago Fire?

Admittedly, things started off a bit bumpy for the couple. Mouch goes to the police station with a ring in hand and attempts a proposal that, to put it nicely, is underwhelming. Trudy sure thought so, and stormed out of the station in frustration. The couple rebound, however, in unexpected fashion.

Trudy accepts the fact that Mouch is not the overtly romantic type, and decides to take matters into her own hands. “That proposal was really messy and half-assed. But then again, so are you”, she told her husband to be. “But you are also the kindest and most honest man I’ve ever met. I would be the luckiest girl on earth to call you mine.” She then proposed to Mouch, and despite being overwhelmed by emotion, manages to respond with a heartwarming:

“Trudy Platt, marrying you would be my greatest honor.”

The couple’s wedding takes place in the season 4 Chicago Fire episode “On the Warpath.” Most of the episode revolves around a, but there is some time dedicated to Mouch’s pre-wedding jitters, and the fear he has making the biggest personal decision of his life. Trudy has some jitters of her own, but they both come to their senses and walk down the aisle in a ceremony that still ranks as one of the franchise’s most picturesque.

Since we have to wait to 2024 to find out what happens to Mouch, now would be a perfect time to revisit the wedding episode, or at the very least, the “Plouch” montage that was uploaded to the One Chicago YouTube channel in 2021. It’ll make you want to relive their courtship all over again.
