Taylor Kinney’s girlfriend feuds with Chicago Fire fans on IG

Taylor Kinney’s exit from Chicago Fire has been tough on fans. There’s been no word on when the actor will return to the show, or if he’ll return at all. Kinney has been quiet since leaving, but his IG appearances alongside girlfriend Ashley Cruger has led to some tense exchanges between fans and the professional model.

Cruger recently took to her Instagram Stories to address a fan who claimed that Kinney was with her solely due to her appearance. She went on flip the criticism, and take it as a compliment before turning the insult back onto the fan.

“Sometimes I see comments, sometimes I don’t”, she explained. “It doesn’t matter either way. Today, someone said he’s only with me because I’m good in bed. Babe, that’s what you’re telling people? That is the sweetest thing I’ve ever heard. Just from looking at me, you got that? You’re invited to my wedding. It’s giving bridesmaid energy, maybe flower girl.”

This is not the first time Cruger has been criticized since her relationship with Kinney went public. In September she posted a clip from the comedy The Campaign (2012), in which Will Ferrell says “Welcome to the f–king show”, in reference to her increased fame and the ire that’s come with it. Cruger also gave love to the One Chicago fans who have been welcoming and supportive of her and Kinney as a couple.

“I’m not gonna make hate comments my whole personality”, she said wrote on an Instagram Story in September. “People are also/usually really really sweet and kind.” Cruger is Kinney’s most public relationship since he ended his engagement with pop superstar Lady Gaga back in 2016.

Kinney made a point of preserving privacy in the aftermath of the Gaga breakup, joking with Entertainment Tonight that his character, Severide, is the outlet for his romantic drama. “My dating life is through Chicago Fire“, he explained. “I live vicariously through my character.”

Cruger has seemingly changed Kinney’s outlook, and the model even made a cameo appearance during a bar scene in the season 11 premiere of Chicago Fire. Whatever the impetus for Kinney’s leave of absence, we hope he and Cruger continue to find happiness in their personal life.
