Former Blue Bloods star diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer
It’s a sad day for Blue Bloods fans. Erik Jensen, an actor who appeared on the police procedural back in 2014, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer. A GoFundMe page has been established for Jensen, and many of his former co-stars have encouraged fans to contribute in an effort to save his life.
Jensen’s GoFundMe page goes into great detail regarding his current condition, including the revelation that he survived a brain aneurysm a year and a half ago, and that the cancer that he’s been diagnosed with has metastasized to his liver. The information on the page has been written by Jensen’s wife, Jessica Blank.
What Blue Bloods episode did Erik Jensen appear in?
“Erik is young and strong (cutting a film during chemo, working full-time as a director and writer throughout) and his doctors have a shot at shrinking the tumors enough to do two very major surgeries and get them all out”, Blank added. “We know he can make it through this, come out the other side, and continue to make great work and support his community for years to come.”
Jensen and Blank have a daughter named Sadie, and they have set up the GoFundMe page in order to provide stability for their daughter, as well as help pay for expensive medical treatments. Blank also referenced the recent actors strike, and how it has affected Jensen’s income at a time when he needs it most.

“The lack of streaming residuals has affected Erik’s family profoundly in the past few years, as it has affected so many middle class working actors”, she wrote. “They are full-time freelance artists and live without the cushion that long-term commercial work can provide.” The couple are looking to raise $300,000.
Jensen is a familiar face to those who have watched primetime television over the last decade. In addition to appearing in the Blue Bloods episode “The Bogeyman”, he has had supporting roles in The Walking Dead, The Blacklist, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and more recently, the Netflix thriller Mindhunter. We wish him and his family the absolute best during this trying time.
