Chicago Fire fans can rest easy: Taylor Kinney is coming back. The actor had us a bit worried during season 11, when he abruptly announced that he was going to be taking a leave of absence from the show. He offered no official return date, or reason as to why he was leaving, so naturally fans planned for the for the worse.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed, however, that Kinney will be present for the first run of episodes in season 12, and an insider from Deadline added that the actor will be sticking around for the rest of the season as well (time will tell regarding the latter). Since Kinney is back in the mix, we thought it’d be interesting to take a step back and determine how much he makes in comparison to the rest of the Chicago Fire cast.

What is Taylor Kinney’s net worth in 2023?

According to Meaww, Kinney has an estimated net worth of $8 million. This has mostly been through acting, whether it be through music videos or supporting roles in blockbuster films like Zero Dark Thirty (2012) and The Other Woman (2014). Of course, Kinney’s decade plus run on Chicago Fire has been his most consistent source of income.

Kinney is believed to make an estimated $24K per episode of Chicago Fire, though the number itself has not been substantiated by official network sources. There are also conflicting reports from NCESC that the actor has renegotiated his salary since the show launched, and could be making closer to $200K per episode. This would make Kinney one of the highest-paid men on television.

Given that Kinney has been part of the cast since the pilot, and has effectively served as the show’s lead or co-lead, it would make sense that he would have been able to increase his price. There’s also a possibility that the actor could have renegotiated his salary per episode ahead of the upcoming season.

Due to the fact that Kinney and the rest of the Chicago Fire cast are still on strike, however, they will not be able to speak on the conditions of their return or their plans for the future until the strike is resolved. Regardless, we are happy to see Kinney back in the mix and earning his pay as the centerpiece of the 51.
