3 Chicago Med characters we might say goodbye to in 2025

As 2025 arrives, we'd be lying if we said we weren't concerned about saying goodbye to these three Chicago Med characters.

While cast changes have always been a part of the One Chicago shows, there is no denying that Chicago Med has seen one of the highest cast turnarounds of the three One Chicago shows in recent years.

In the last few seasons, we’ve seen new faces join the show only to leave after short tenures with the medical drama. We’ve also seen fan-favorite, long-tenured cast members exit the series after seasons of playing their respective characters. Some of these exits have come with notice, while others have taken fans by surprise due to the unexpected ways in which the characters have been written out of the show.

These frequent changes to the cast have made it clear that no one is ever truly safe, and you never know when your favorite character might appear for the final time on the show.

As we look ahead to 2025, it seems inevitable that more cast changes could be coming Chicago Med’s way and we’d be lying if we didn’t admit to having concerns about having to say goodbye to these three particular characters.

Dr. Goodwin

When Chicago Med signed off the air with its fall finale, Goodwin’s stalker finally revealed themselves and their threats against her escalated quickly. As the final episode of the year ended, Goodwin’s stalker had stabbed Goodwin and things weren’t looking good for the head of the hospital as the year wound down.

While Goodwin was able to make it out of her office to catch Archer’s attention, her attacker came running out after her and Goodwin was in a really precarious position as the credits began rolling.

We’re optimistic that Goodwin will survive the ordeal; however, if there is one thing we’ve come to learn with the One Chicago shows it’s that we should expect the unexpected. It also doesn’t help that we didn’t see Goodwin popping up in any behind-the-scenes photos from filming of the crossover which has us more than a little worried about what 2025 will bring for her.

Dr. Archer

Season 10 has been a rough year for Dr. Archer to say the least. At the top of the season, he found he’d have co-run the E.D. with Dr. Lenox, and the two butt heads throughout the early part of the season.

It looked like Archer was going to eventually regain sole control of the E.D., but Goodwin instead made Lenox the sole head of the E.D. making Archer question his future at Med. As the season 10 finale rolled around, Archer was ready to walk away from Med and slid his resignation papers under Goodwin’s door.

The good news is that it seems Archer won’t be going anywhere as Chicago Med resumes its season in the new year; however, we have to wonder if Archer’s days at Med could be limited given he was prepared to walk away after losing his title as a head of the E.D. at Med.

Dr. Lenox

There have been a lot of cast turnovers on Chicago Med in recent years with many new doctors coming and going after a season or two on the show. So who can blame us for wondering if Dr. Lenox could be the latest to join the list of characters who enter the picture, make waves at Med, and then leave as quickly as they arrive?

Our hope would be for Lenox to become a regular fixture on the show as she’s proven to be a complicated character whose layers we’ve only just begun to pull back. She also happens to be a character that hasn’t exactly made a lot of friends this season and we could see the season ending with Lenox leaving Med behind and Archer taking the reins of the E.D. back from her by the time season 10 closes.
