We're currently in the midst of a One Chicago drought. All three of NBC's Wednesday night procedural won't air any new episodes in December 2025 and won't return with the continuations of their current seasons until the new year. Chicago Med season 11 returns on Jan. 7, and since the season wrapped up for the year with its midseason finale, we have had questions.

Even though Chicago Med season 11 began with a reunion that's been a long time coming, the midseason finale might have been the most gripping episode of the season so far. A number of former guest stars made return trips to Gaffney, and one in particular put Lenox's life in danger. Additionally, recent episodes raised some concerns about a fan-favorite ship.

There are so many questions that Chicago Med season 11 still has to address with the remaining 14 episodes, but some of them better get priority and land answers as soon as the series returns in January. We're breaking down just three of the biggest loose threads still to be explored in season 11 in no particular order, but beginning with the one that's been on our minds since episode 1.

Where is Maggie in Chicago Med season 11?

No, but seriously... where is she? So far in season 11, Chicago Med has respected Marlyne Barrett's privacy following her abrupt and reportedly temporary exit from the series this summer. But there hasn't been a mention of Maggie's whereabouts or even her name since the season premiere.

It's been a very strange character exit to witness because it happened totally offscreen and was never explained. Chicago Med should find a way to continue respective Barrett's decision for personal time while also keeping the audience informed on a very important character that's been vital to the series since season 1.

Does Lenox survive being attacked by Carter?

The Chicago Med season 11 ended with an extremely unsettling cliffhanger that left one of our doctors' fates up in the air. When the abusive husband of one of Lenox's patients from earlier in the season returns to Gaffney, she realizes that he's still being abusive to his wife.

Lenox previously offered help to Faye, but she denied it. Now that she realizes Devon (Jack Falahee) is putting Faye's life in even more danger, Lenox risks her job to visit her at home and finds her tied up and beaten in the basement. By the episode's end, Lenox gets knocked out by Devon. We need to know if she's alive immediately!

Will Asher and Ripley get back together?

Okay, so maybe this isn't a pressing question for every Chicago Med fan, but this one really wants to know if there's path toward Asher and Ripley getting back together. I mean, the season did begin with Ripley ever so excited at the possibility of becoming parents with Asher, after all.

Not to mention, Ripley's also single now after being dumped by Sadie. See? The path is already forming. There have been some hints of possible complications coming for Asher's pregnancy, which haven't come to fruition yet. But will Ripley be a shoulder to lean on if something does go wrong? The people yearn for an Ripley and Asher rekindling!

Chicago Med season 11 returns on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 8/7c on NBC.
