Hallmark Channel is giving Chicago Med fans four reasons to tune into its Countdown to Christmas lineup this year!
While Christmas might be months away, Hallmark will kick off its annual Countdown to Christmas lineup in just a few short weeks with 10 weeks of holiday movies coming viewers’ way every weekend from mid-October right up until the final weekend before Christmas. Among this year’s 34 new movies are four films starring Chicago Med alums and one beloved member of the current cast.
Up first is Adopting St. Nick, starring Michael Rady, who starred as Dr. Matt Cooper during a recurring arc in season 7. The film will follow a hardware store owner (Amy Groening) who grows close to a retirement community director (Rady) after getting involved with the retirement community’s Christmas Companions program.
After Adopting St. Nick, fans will have to wait until December for the next series of Countdown to Christmas movies featuring Chicago Med alums, but the wait will be worth it!
On Friday, December 11, Hallmark Channel will debut Christmas in Canterbury, starring Jessy Schram. Fans will get to see Schram trade in Dr. Hannah Asher’s scrubs as she stars as a choir master who steps in to help a friend at an English school. It’s there that she’ll clash with the more traditionalist boys’ choir master (Will Kemp) and sparks will soon fly as they prepare the choir for the Canterbury Cathedral on Christmas Eve. This one is sure to be a can’t-miss for Chicago Med fans, and we always love when Schram gets to take a break from saving lives at Gaffney to find love in a Hallmark movie.
That same weekend, fans will see alum Torrey DeVitto returning for her latest Countdown to Christmas movie! DeVitto, who played Dr. Natalie Manning for six seasons on Chicago Med, stars in Notelle Nomads, which debuts Sunday, December 13. The film will see DeVitto starring as a free spirit who welcomes in a father (Benjamin Ayres) and his daughter at the remote campground during the holidays after they get stranded in the area while trying to make their Hawaiian getaway.
Last but certainly not least, we've got Barking All the Way, which arrives on Saturday, December 19, as one of the final Countdown to Christmas films of the year. The film stars Chicago Med alum Ian Harding, who recurred during the fourth and fifth seasons as Phillip Davis, the father of a patient who had a brief (and very complicated) romance with DeVitto's character. The film will follow a workaholic realtor (Tori Anderson) who agrees to dog-sit over Christmas and ends up being reunited with her high school ex (Harding).
It's certainly going to be an exciting fall for Chicago Med fans, and we love that there are so many stars from the show set to appear in this year's Countdown to Christmas slate. Our only complaint is that we haven’t seen any Chicago Fire or Chicago PD stars make the jump to Hallmark's holiday slate just yet. Perhaps we can put that on our Christmas list and hope to see even more One Chicago stars in the 2027 lineup!
