The eighth season of 911 hasn't been smooth sailing for everyone. The incredibly popular procedural returned last fall for its second season on the ABC Network and continued to captivate audiences with adventures so outlandish that only the 911 TV universe could have come up with with them. Of course that meant that some of the show's most beloved characters got caught up in them.
From opening with a Bee-nado to Maddie getting kidnapped (and enduring another near-death experience), it's been a wild ride thus far. And that's not even taking into account this season's emotional storylines, including Captain Bobby Nash's return to the 118 and Eddie Diaz's departure to Texas.
It's been an emotional rollercoaster on 911 so far this season and this week's episode looks set to raise the stakes all over again.
The 118 faces a bus hijacker in "Invisible"
911 season 8 episode 13 is titled "Invisible" and, from what we know of it, the 118 is involved in another high-stakes situation. How high-stakes? Try "life or death". The episode will see the crew called to the site of a bus hijacking to provide aid to passengers injured by a man wielding a knife.

As the promo reveals, our beloved Hen will look to talk to the hijacker in a bid to bring an end to the situation without any more casualties, but that might be easier said than done. What makes that conversation all the more time-sensitive is the fact that there is at least one person who needs medical attention.
Hen will then volunteer to help the injured man, making her way onto the bus in the hopes of administering some aid to him then and there. But as his injuries look to be worse than she hoped, she needs to get him off the bus. That doesn't sit too well with the hijacker who tells her that he makes the rules there. Athena remarks that Hen has become another hostage, leaving the fate of both her and the other passengers on the bus up in the air.
SWAT will look to end the situation promptly by potentially getting the man responsible for all of this in their sights and taking him out, but we're betting that Sergeant Athena Grant will play a pivotal role in taking him down. She's pretty epic when it comes to situations like this.
Make or break for Eddie and Christopher's relationship?
Like all good 911 episodes, this won't be the only major arc in "Invisible", as we will once again be catching up with Eddie Diaz. After his move to Texas, the previous episode allowed us to see what Eddie's life was like in his new surroundings. It looks like that will continue to factor into this week's episode, too.
The official synopsis, released last week, reveals that Eddie will confront his parents in the upcoming episode as he looks to take a major step in his relationship with his son. Check out the full synopsis below:

Although he was happy to be back with his son, Christopher, and his parents, Eddie struggled to find work for a bit. After a meeting with the captain of a Firehouse in Texas, Eddie was hopeful that he would get to continue his dream of being a firefighter, but when he didn't get the job, he wasn't sure what that meant for him. Having moved across the country, he needed a job - which he eventually found as an Uber driver.
Lying to Christopher put an extra strain on their already-strained relationship, but after the pair had a conversation, it looked like things were beginning to move back in the right direction for them. But what challenges will they face in this week's episode? Does Eddie think it's time that Chris moves in with him, and could that lead to tension with his parents?
We'll have to wait and see, but it's clear that 911 season 8 episode 13 is one that you won't want to miss!
911 season 8 airs on ABC on Thursday at 8/7c.
