Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) are two of the most notable characters in Law & Order history. They were arguably the most universally beloved partnership in the entire franchise during the first 12 seasons of SVU. Stabler has since gone on to spearhead his own spinoff, Organized Crime, but the bond between him and Benson remains intact.
This is what makes their upcoming reunion so exciting. Benson and Stabler will reunite for the first time in two years on the upcoming season of Organized Crime. The reunion will occur in the second episode of the season, which will be airing exclusively on NBC's streaming platform, Peacock.

NBC dropped a promo for Organized Crime that featured brief glimpses of the Benson and Stabler reunion. The circumstances are less than ideal for the latter. Stabler goes undercover with a deadly crew, and winds up getting smashed by an oncoming vehicle in what we can only assume is an act that was purposeful.
The veteran officer is banged up pretty bad, and rushed to the hospital in a neck brace. It's here where his old partner, Benson, appears to offer her support. Stabler appears unconscious, and Benson utters his name in an effort to snap him out of it. To be clear, we're not worried about the character's fate. Stabler is the anchor of Organized Crime, and the showrunners would never dare write off such a beloved character.
Promo photos obtained by TV Line show Benson wearing different clothes than she is in the promo, and clutching the hand of a still unconscious Stabler. Christopher Meloni actually teased this reunion during an interview with People in August of 2024. "I know Benson will be with Organized Crime for a moment there," he teased. Meloni also noted that there will be more uncovered about the dynamic these veteran officers have during the Organized Crime episode.
Benson and Stabler haven't shared a scene in 2 years
"I'll tell you what. Hopefully, [we] uncover, peel away a little bit more of the onion or uncover a little more depth of feeling between them," he teased. Technically, we got a phone conversation between Benson and Stabler during the SVU season 24 finale last year, but the convo was brief, and the two never shared the screen together. We'd have to go back to season 3 finale of Organized Crime for a chance to see these two actually occupy the same space.
We can't wait to see Benson and Stabler reunite. The first two episodes of Law & Order: Organized Crime will release Thursday, April 17 on Peacock.
