We're finally starting to see the ensemble cast spread out.

Blue Bloods always lived and died by its cast. The show was predicated on the bond between the various members of the Reagan family, so it makes sense that the connection between the actors was going to be crucial to selling this overriding theme to fans. Now that the show is over, though, Blue Bloods fans will have to undergo the bittersweet process of seeing their favorite actors make jumps to different shows.

Will Hochman is the first Blue Bloods star to do so. The actor, who played Joe Hill on Blue Bloods, has been cast in the prequel of the acclaimed superhero show The Boys. The specifics regarding his new character are being kept a secret, but we do know that he will be acting alongside established Boys stars like Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash.

The prequel series will be titled Vought Rising and will take place decades before the events of The Boys. "[It's a] twisted murder mystery” that will take place in the 1950s and will see Ackles once again play Soldier Boy while Cash will again play Stormfront, a.k.a. Clara Vought," the Amazon synopsis said. "The show is expected to begin production later this year."

This is a huge step for Hochman's career. The actor made his screen debut in 2017 before scoring the supporting role of Joe Hill on Blue Bloods in 2020. He was tasked with playing the son of the late Reagan sibling, Joe, and he managed to live up to extremely high expectations. He held his own in scenes with veterans like Donnie Wahlberg and Tom Selleck over the course of 21 episodes.

His involvement in Blue Bloods spinoff is unknown

"Family Secrets" -- After getting a match from an unknown relative from a DNA network, Sean Reagan does some detective work to figure out who this mystery person might be, and Frank gets a personal request from a woman, Paula Hill (Bonnie Sommerville), to transfer her son to a safer assignment. Also, Danny seeks to uncover the truth behind the murder of a key witness in one of Erin's cases, and Eddie begins to think about having a child after she and Jamie discover a newborn left outside their

The big question, of course, is whether Hochman will ever reprise his role as Joe Hill on the upcoming Blue Bloods spinoff, Boston Bloods. The spinoff will focus on Wahlberg's character, who is Hill's uncle. He moves to Boston and resumes his law enforcement career, though CBS has been scant with info on whether other Reagan family members will appear.

It can be tricky for actors to return to the shows that served as their breakthrough, especially when they get booked for something as prestigious as a Boys spinoff. We will keep our fingers crossed in the hopes of there being a Danny Reagan and Joe Hill reunion in Boston. As it stands, we're eager to see how Will Hochman acclimates to a new TV role.
