We might not yet know who Brandon Larracuente will be playing in the forthcoming season of Chicago Fire, but we’ve officially been given our first look at Firehouse 51’s newest addition!

With filming officially underway on season 14, the Chicago Fire cast has begun to give fans glimpses into the new season by sharing new behind-the-scenes photos from the set. Among the latest waves of photos is one from returning star Jocelyn Hudon, which has given fans their first look at Larracuente’s new character.

In the first look photo from the set of Chicago Fire season 14, we see Larracuente’s character suited up in his turnout gear on set alongside Daniel Kyri, David Eigenberg, Christian Stolte, and Miranda Rae Mayo. Larracuente seems to be fitting right in with the cast, and we’re definitely excited to officially meet his character this fall.

Interestingly, NBC has yet to confirm the name of Larracuente’s character or provide details on his character’s backstory. However, we’re nearly certain that his character will make his way to Firehouse 51 as a new member of Truck Company 81, working under the direction of Mayo’s Lieutenant Stella Kidd.

Larracuente joins Chicago Fire in what is shaping up to be a season of major changes to NBC’s hit firefighter drama. Already, it’s been confirmed that three key members of the cast are exiting the series ahead of or early in season 14.

Jake Lockett is out as a series regular and will not be back as Sam Carver in season 14. NBC has yet to confirm whether we might see Carver appear in any capacity; however, season 14 is currently filming, and there has been no hint that Lockett is on set filming. Sad as this might be for fans, it would make sense for Lockett not to appear in the new season as the show laid the groundwork for his departure in the season 13 finale when it was revealed Carver had accepted a position in Denver and was leaving town.

Also exiting the show is Michael Bradway, whose Jack Damon is expected to be written out of the show via a one-off line. This is because Bradway has joined the cast of Prime Video’s Every Year After, based on Carley Fortune‘s bestselling romantic novel Every Summer After. Filming on the series is currently underway, resulting in Bradway’s unexpected exit from Chicago Fire. The door is being left open for Bradway to return; however, it’s not expected that we’ll see his character at any point in the first half of the season.

Finally, there is the forthcoming exit of Kyri’s Darren Ritter, who will be departing sometime early in the season. Details on when Kryi’s final episode will be remain unknown; however, we do at least know Kyri will be back in some capacity to give Ritter an on-screen exit.

Interestingly, Larracuente is currently the only new cast addition that has been confirmed by NBC. We’ll see if any additional new faces join the cast as the season progresses, but for now, it seems like Larracuente will help fill the void left by Carver and Damon’s departures.

Chicago Fire season 14 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 9/8c.
