With April quickly knocking at our door, CBS has become the first network to unveil its finale plans for the 2024-2025 television season, and let’s just say there are a lot of surprising choices in the mix!
On March 20, CBS announced the finale dates for 20 of its hit series which includes both season finale dates for the network’s many returning shows as well as series finale dates for several hit shows which will be coming to an unexpected end as their current seasons draw to a close. As is usually the case, many of CBS’s primetime favorites will be signing off the air in May; however, there are a good number of CBS shows that will wrap up their current seasons a bit earlier than expected with a wave of late April finales planned.
2025 CBS finale dates set for NCIS, FBI, SWAT, Fire Country and more
CBS’s finale sprint will begin right about in the middle of the month with the season finale of Matlock on April 17. From there, CBS fans will be in store for quite a crazy finale schedule that will see many shows airing on special nights and closing out their seasons with extended season and series finales. Looking at CBS’s planned finale schedule, the network has made some interesting choices that are sure to raise a few eyebrows. There are three shows which will wrap their seasons with special two-episode finales including the season finales of Fire Country and The Neighborhood, as well as the series finale of SWAT. It’s a bit unclear why CBS is opting for two-episode finales rather than spacing the remaining episodes of the shows out over an additional week but there’s clearly a plan in place.
The NCIS finale schedule is going to be a bit chaotic as well with NCIS: Sydney ending its season on April 25, NCIS: Origins ending its season on April 28, and NCIS wrapping its current season on May 5. Meanwhile, the FBI shows will all come to a close on Tuesday, May 20 with the season finale of FBI and series finales of FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted.
The FBI shows will be among the final shows to end their current seasons this spring with Survivor 48 closing out CBS's finale schedule with its 3-hour finale on May 21.
