CBS has set the premiere dates for its 2025-2026 television schedule, and this includes the NCIS franchise. NCIS: Origins has gotten plenty of fans excited for season 2, especially with the shocking finale that put one agent’s life in peril. When will we get to see the younger Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) and the rest of his NIS team?

There will be a slight change for the NCIS shows, as they are set to replace the Tuesday block previously held by FBI, FBI: International, and FBI: Most Wanted. The latter two were cancelled by CBS and now that FBI is on its own, it will move to the Monday timeslot beginning on Oct. 13.

The new season of NCIS: Origins will then premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 9/8c following NCIS.  As fans may recall, in the season 1 finale, Agent Cecilia “Lala” Dominguez was involved in a car accident while on her way to let Gibbs know that the investigation into Pedro Hernandez’s death was over.

Her fate is unknown as of yet, and even actress Mariel Morino was hoping that she would still get to continue Lala’s story. However, it remains to be seen if Lala does survive. However, if she doesn’t, it would also explain why Gibbs never spoke about her again, especially since they almost shared an intimate moment.

Gibbs may have his hands full in season 2, however. The end of season 1 also saw him meeting his future second wife, Diane Sterling, who worked as a real estate agent at this time. NCIS fans already know how their story ended, but it will be neat to see the beginning of their relationship.

In addition to seeing Gibbs meeting Diane, we will also see Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid) reunite with his long-lost brother, with whom he seems to be estranged. This will likely answer questions about why they were no longer in contact and why Mike claimed not to have a brother at one point.

Plus, we’re also looking forward to seeing what happens with Randy, who had concerns about continuing to work in the field. Since we don’t know much about him still, other than he had originally been the agent assigned to protect Shannon and Kelly Gibbs, there’s plenty of story to tell for him in the second season.

Since there is still plenty of time before season 2 airs, fans can catch up on the previous episodes on Paramount+.
