When NBC announced that Joe Minoso would be exiting Chicago Fire at the beginning of season 15, the news immediately left fans with a wave of questions. How would the show write him out? What would this mean for Squad 3 and Firehouse 51? Will this really be the last time we see Cruz? What does this mean for Chloe and the Cruz family?

While we’re still waiting to see how exactly Chicago Fire will write Cruz out of the show and get answers to these questions, we have gotten the answer to one of our burning questions!

One thing we’ve been wondering since it was announced that Minoso was exiting the show was whether we’d get the chance to see Cruz’s twins arrive before his final episode. Chicago Fire’s showrunner avoided confirming whether this moment would occur before Minoso left, but a newly released photo from the 300th episode reveals Chloe will deliver the twins in the milestone episode.

In the photo below, we get to see the Cruz family together in the hospital with Chloe in bed holding both twins in her arms while Javi and Otis meet their new siblings as Cruz takes in the scene from the doorway. It’s the first time we’ve seen the full family together on-screen in quite some time, and we love that the Chicago Fire writers chose to work in the birth of the twins and allow fans to see the Cruz family all together one last time on screen as part of Minoso’s final episode on the show.

If we had to guess, it seems like there is a good chance that the twins will be born at the beginning of the episode, which would make sense from a plot standpoint. We know that a big focus of the episode will be Cruz saying goodbye to Firehouse 51, and it makes sense for that goodbye to take more of a priority than the welcoming of the twins.

Sure, we’re thrilled that we’re going to get to see the twins arrive before Cruz’s exit. However, what we’re really looking forward to in the episode is getting to see how the writers wrap up his time on the show by focusing on the relationships that have played the biggest role in his journey through the years. We’re ready to be emotionally wrecked by Cruz’s final scenes with his Firehouse 51 family, particularly those who have been along for the ride from the beginning: Severide, Herrmann, and Mouch.

We already know that there will be a really heartfelt moment with Severide, and we’re really looking forward to that moment between Minoso and Taylor Kinney. When Cruz’s career was on the line in the premiere, it was Severide who stopped at nothing to clear his name and prove he made the right call. Those two characters have gone on such a journey through the years and formed a strong friendship built on mutual respect and admiration for one another.

Between the birth of the twins and Cruz’s farewell to his Firehouse 51 family, the 300th episode is really shaping up to be a touching sendoff to a beloved character, and we could not be happier.

Don't miss the 300th episode of Chicago Fire when it airs Wednesday, November 4, at 9/8c on NBC!
