Firehouse 51 is about to finally have all hands on deck for the first time since March; that’s right, March. Somehow, Chicago Fire has not had its full cast together in over two months, across the last seven episodes, but the cast will finally be reunited in the season 14 finale!

Through the promotional materials for the Chicago Fire season 14 finale, including photos, the episode synopsis, and the promo, NBC has confirmed that all of the show's series regulars will appear in the closing hour of the season. This brings an end to a seven-episode streak in which at least one series regular has failed to appear in an episode.

It all began after the 2026 One Chicago crossover event with episode 14, “Hit and Run.” The episode saw Violet, Novak, and Vasquez all missing, with Ambulance 61 out of service with Violet and Novak at a joint duty training session at the academy and Vasquez out for the day. The episode also served as Pascal's final episode for several weeks, timed to Dermot Mulroney's temporary hiatus from the show.

As episode 15, “Do Not Resuscitate,” rolled around, the trio returned, but all members of Squad 3 were sidelined, with Severide being the only character whose absence was directly addressed. We'd come to learn that Severide was out studying for the captain's exam after Pascal had given him a nudge to pursue the promotion.

The streak continued with episode 16, "Firehouse 66," which focused exclusively on Squad 3 as they took center stage in the episode. This resulted in Kidd, Herrmann, Mouch, Violet, Vasquez, and Novak all missing the episode. We learned that Truck was out participating in wildfire training while Ambulance 61 was off shift for the day.

The following week, Severide, Capp, and Mouch were sidelined for episode 17, "Sway." Severide was away completing training in his pursuit to become a captain within the CFD. We then learned that Mouch and Capp were off shift for the day, which is why they failed to appear in the episode.

Episode 18, "Instinct," was by far the most jarring episode in this stretch of episodes without series regulars, as the episode sidelined nearly its entire cast. The only three series regulars who appeared in the episode were Violet, Novak, and Vasquez, who took center stage in an episode that saw Violet and Novak taken hostage by an armed man and Vasquez working to track them down.

Understandably, after the events of episode 18, Novak, Violet, and Vasquez were all sidelined in episode 19, "Exit Point." We'd come to learn that the trio were out as they were still helping the CPD tie up some loose ends from the hostage situation. It looked like we'd see everyone back in action for the penultimate episode, only for Kidd to miss the episode with her character heading to Cleveland to visit Isaiah.

Thankfully, after seven episodes with multiple members of 51's core unit missing due to various storylines, we're going to see everyone back in action in the season 14 finale. This even includes Pascal, who will be returning after his exit at the end of episode 14, which is sure to make for some interesting storylines in the closing hour of the season. The one downside of everyone being back is that we have to worry about more beloved characters in connection to the call; the promo hints that it could put at least one firefighter's life on the line.

Don't miss the Chicago Fire season 14 finale when it airs Wednesday, May 13 at 9/8c on NBC!
