This fall, Chicago Fire will celebrate a major television milestone that is growing more and more rare with each passing year. Early in the show’s upcoming fifteenth season, Chicago Fire will sail past the 300-episode milestone with the fifth episode of season 15 serving as episode 300 for the long-running series.
300 episodes is quite a milestone, and we’re certain that the writers are hard at work crafting an unforgettable episode to commemorate the moment. There is no telling what they might have planned, and we won’t be surprised at all if the episode ends up bringing back a familiar face or two and includes some fun callbacks to iconic moments throughout the show’s run.
Making it to 300 episodes in this era of television is a major milestone, and it’s truly wild to think we’ve spent nearly 300 episodes with the men and women of Firehouse 51. There isn’t much that the show hasn’t accomplished during this run, and history will be made ahead of the 300th episode with the season 15 premiere helping Chicago Fire to become the longest-running firefighter drama.
15 seasons in, Chicago Fire remains a top program not just on NBC but among all of the broadcast originals and is just as popular today as it was when the show first premiered. Despite the strong fan support, though, there is one thing that has evaded the fandom: Chicago Fire merchandise!
While NBC has had some great options over the years via the NBC Shop, Chicago Fire has somehow never truly broken into the fandom merch space.
You never see official Chicago Fire merchandise on Amazon or in stores that carry pop culture merchandise or the brand partnerships leading to collectibles inspired by the show and its amazing characters.
Given how popular Chicago Fire and, really, the entire One Chicago franchise are, you would think there would have been at least one massive merchandise push at some point over the years. There has been no branded One Chicago Monopoly game, no Chicago Fire ornaments, no Funko Pop! figures inspired by our favorite characters on the show, and really not even any widely available apparel to show off our One Chicago fandom. Just imagine how amazing it would be to have a Severide Funko Pop! or to be able to throw a game night that entails a special One Chicago Monopoly game with tokens inspired by the show.
We’ve seen many long-running franchises represented in the pop culture merchandise market, including shows like Law & Order: SVU and Grey’s Anatomy, and it’s shocking that we’ve never seen a big merchandising push for Chicago Fire and the One Chicago shows!
With Chicago Fire entering its 15th season, we can only hope that our patience might finally pay off and some fun branded partnerships will come about soon! One Chicago fans are among the most passionate fans around, and we deserve the chance to show our fandom off with Chicago Fire merch. If nothing else, we’ll happily take a branded Chicago Fire firefighter calendar for our office.
