The countdown to the season finales of Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD is officially on, and it seems there will be one last break in the One Chicago show’s schedules before they sign off for the summer.
NBC surprised fans by revealing the One Chicago shows will wrap their current seasons on May 13, a week earlier than expected. With Chicago Fire, Med, and PD all wrapping their runs on May 13, we knew that there would have to be one final break in the schedule before the finales, and NBC has finally confirmed when that final break will take place.Â
After airing new episodes on April 8, NBC will send Chicago Fire, Med, and PD into reruns on April 15. The bad news is that we won’t be getting new episodes that week, but the good news is that this will be the final break before the finales. This will thankfully be a one-week break with Chicago Fire, Med, and PD all returning the following week on April 22, with NBC then bringing fans four weeks of uninterrupted new episodes as the seasons come to an end with the schedule shaking out as follows for the final episodes of the season:Â

While it’s never fun when the One Chicago shows have to go on a break, we definitely appreciate that NBC is getting the final week of reruns over with early so that it can bring fans four back-to-back weeks of new episodes to close out the current seasons of Chicago Fire, Med, and PD.Â
Once we get past that final week of reruns, we'll be in the home stretch of the seasons and get to enjoy the final episodes without any interruptions. This is particularly nice given we're going to likely have a longer than usual summer hiatus ahead of us with the shows wrapping their seasons a week earlier than normal, ending before mid-May rather than in late May.
There's no telling what the final episodes of the season will bring, but the One Chicago schedule for the final episodes of the season is set and the countdown to the Chicago Fire, Med, and PD season finales is officially on!
