The X-Men will soon be assembling in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it seems fans are hoping to see a former Chicago Fire star take on a pivotal role in the ensemble.
From the moment Disney acquired 20th Century Fox in 2019, Marvel fans have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the X-Men within the MCU. After years in limbo, the beloved Marvel Comics characters have started to emerge within the MCU, both in the form of familiar faces reprising their roles from the 20th Century Fox days and fresh faces bringing the characters into the next chapter of the MCU.
An official X-Men movie is in development, and Disney is working on finalizing the cast, with many fans anticipating that the official X-Men cast will be revealed on August 14 during the D23 Expo Studio Showcase. With the cast announcement fast approaching and Marvel Studios reportedly in active negotiations with several actors about key roles in the project, social media has been buzzing with a mix of fan casts and alleged frontrunners.
On August 3, a new name joined the mix when one user pointed out how perfect Chicago Fire alum Michael Bradway would be for the role of Scott Summers, aka Cyclops.

The tweet has sparked a lot of support from fans who have jumped into the conversation to point out how perfect Bradway would be for the role of the X-Men icon, and we certainly agree with the fans that Bradway would be an incredible pick for the role of Scott Summers.

Fans have been quick to point out how much Bradway resembles various iterations of the character, and we definitely agree. Bradway has the classic leading-man look that aligns perfectly with Scott Summers’ comic-accurate appearance, which has long been defined by his strong features, commanding stature, and the kind of intensity that naturally fits a character known for his discipline and authority. And yes, it certainly helps that he has the build that is often associated with a superhero such as Cyclops—we've all looked respectfully at Bradway’s Instagram and the many shirtless scenes Every Year After blessed audiences with.
Beyond looks, though, his performances have shown he can balance emotional restraint with underlying vulnerability, which is essential for portraying Cyclops’ inner conflict as both a leader and a man burdened by responsibility. Bradway’s ability to convey quiet strength, paired with moments of raw emotion, suggests he could bring a fresh yet faithful take to the iconic mutant who is expected to play a key role in the forthcoming X-Men film.
While we don’t know who might be on Marvel’s radar, the now-viral tweet caught the attention of Bradway’s fiancée, Veronica St. Clair, who shared a screenshot of the tweet on her Instagram Stories. It wasn’t long after that Bradway shared it on his personal story with a series of exclamation mark emojis, making it clear that he is definitely on board with the idea of playing the X-Men’s beloved leader.
Clearly, if Marvel were to come calling, Bradway would happily answer the call. With the X-Men cast expected to be announced at D23, we should learn soon enough whether Bradway ends up on Marvel’s radar and lands the role. Regardless, we have to admit that Marvel fans cooked with this fancast, and the idea of Bradway playing Cyclops in the MCU is certainly fun to entertain!
