Squad 3 will finally be back in action in Chicago Fire season 14, episode 19, and it seems a familiar face will be joining the team upon their return!
After being sidelined for the last two episodes, fans will finally see all four key members of Squad 3 back together in episode 19, “Exit Point,” with Severide, Cruz, Capp, and Tony all together again. We’re thrilled to see the group back together, but it seems like there is going to be an unexpected firefighter joining them on call this week.
As confirmed by the first photos from the episode, Jamal Akakp will be back in action as Truck 68 member Jamie Holt, and it seems that he’ll be making his way to 51 to work alongside Squad 3 in the episode. In the first of the two photos, we see Holt helping Cruz to carry a victim out of a fire, while the second photo sees him alongside Capp and Tony back at the firehouse running drills, which Cruz is overseeing.

It’s unclear what will bring Holt to Firehouse 51, but it seems possible that Holt will be coming to 51 to work alongside Squad 3 for one of two reasons. The first is that Hopkins could have pulled Holt in to work a shift alongside Squad 3 to help give him a chance to learn from the elite unit. It’s also possible that Holt could be assigned to 51 due to the ongoing budget cuts within the CFD, which have been creating a lot of shakeups within the CFD.
Regardless of how Holt comes to land at 51, it’s going to be exciting to see the character back in action and to get to see Holt working with Squad 3 once again.
Fans will recall Holt was introduced in this year’s One Chicago crossover event with Truck 68 responding to the airfield where the crossover storyline began following the disappearance of the passenger plane. Holt boarded the plane alongside Cruz, Macy, and Capp and was exposed to the toxin that ended up claiming Macy’s life. Thankfully, Cruz, Capp, and Holt received the antidote in time to save their lives from the toxin, but we imagine that brush with death and the loss of his colleague have weighed on Holt.
After all he went through, it’s going to be interesting to see how he handles working with Squad 3 again for the first time since the call that nearly cost him his life. We’re sure the events of the crossover will be touched upon, even if briefly, when Holt passes through 51, and we’re excited to see how he holds his own alongside Cruz, Capp, Tony, and Severide during the shift.
Don't miss Chicago Fire season 14, episode 19 when it airs Wednesday, April 29, at 9/8c on NBC!
