Chicago Fire season 10 might not arrive for another few weeks, but NBC has generously gifted us with the first new photos from the upcoming season 10 premiere — and they’re everything we could have hoped for and more!

With the season 10 premiere inching closer and closer, NBC has unveiled the first official photos for the new season which offer up our first official look at what’s to come in the opening hour of season 10.

As previously teased, season 10 will pick up right where season 9 ended by bringing fans swift resolution to the biggest cliffhanger of the season: what will happen to Squad. Although the new images do not tease the fates of Squad — in fact there is not a single member of Squad featured in any of the new images — they do transport us right back to the shore where members of 51 look on in horror, faces of concern filling the crowd as they look out towards the water.

However, that’s far from the only thing the new images reveal about the upcoming season 10 premiere!

As we previously noted, the first batch of Chicago Fire season 10 images transport us right back to where the finale left off with the various members of 51 looking out into the distance awaiting Squad’s emergence from the water. Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo), in particular, is a major focus of these new images, and if her expression is any indication it seems we’re going to be in store for an intense opening sequence.

The first images of the new season also offer up some interesting hints at what could be ahead for Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker), who is seen in several shots with First Deputy Commissioner Gloria Hill (J. Nicole Brooks). Given the intense vibes we’re picking up from the pair, we’re definitely questioning whether Boden decided to accept or decline Hill’s offer.

Could he have accepted the opportunity only to later turn it down, leading to the intense showdown which seems to be unfolding in the first images from the new season?

Elsewhere on the personal front, it looks like we’ll be getting the chance to see even more of 51’s newest recruits coming together to enjoy one another’s company this season. At least, that’s what the handful of shots featuring Gallo (Alberto Rosende), Ritter (Daniel Kyri), and Violet (Hanako Greensmith) catching up and enjoying some beers after shift seems to suggest.

And finally, no Chicago Fire premiere would be complete without some daring rescue shots! While it’s unclear what type of fire or calls the team might be responding to as the season begins, it’s clear the premiere will kick off with a major rescue as evident in the first images from the new season.
