NBC has released the official photos for season 8, episode 12 of Chicago Fire, and fans can expect Firehouse 51 to deal with false alarms and a cover-up, all while trying to save people’s lives in the process.
The January 22 episode “Then Nick Porter Happened,” will feature Captain Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Lieutenant Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) as they deal with a private school administration that gets in the way of their emergency services.
It will be nice to see the dynamic duo team up once again, as this season hasn’t seen much of the Casey/Severide friendship fans have come to know and love. It looks like they will be frustrated as they may receive some push back from the elite school. It begs the question: What exactly are they trying to hide from the fire department?
With Severide’s investigative experience — remember he just finished a stint in OFI — not to mention Casey’s determination, the duo are sure to get to the bottom of whatever the school is hiding. According to NBC’s official episode description, the school is also the source of the many false alarms 51 has been receiving. That makes it incredibly difficult for the team to respond in a timely manner to actual incidents, which puts a lot of lives at risk.
It doesn’t appear to be all work and no play for Firehouse 51, though, as some of the promotional photos show the group at Molly’s Bar, which Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) manage. Maybe they all come together to figure out a solution to the false alarm crisis? Or maybe they’re just blowing off some steam from a stressful day?
Whatever the reason, it’s nice to see a bit more of a balance between their work life on shift, and their personal lives off shift, as lately, a majority of the episodes have been strictly fire-focused. Here’s hoping Firehouse 51 can catch a break this week.
