NBC has released the official photos for season 8, episode 13 of Chicago Fire, and fans can expect a somber mood as the team attends what may be a wake or funeral.
The Feb. 5 episode, “A Chicago Welcome,” will have a bunch of different storylines for some of our favorite firefighters and paramedics. Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) and Lieutenant Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) are going to try to call a truce with an old frenemy; while paramedic in Charge Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) receives some unexpected family news.
Whatever that news is, it must the reason that brings both her and Captain Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) to an important ceremony. In another promotional photo though, all of Firehouse 51 is gathered behind them – so maybe it’s something bigger than originally thought, or they are simply supporting one of their own.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Emily Foster (Annie Ilonzeh) will be planning a party for a few friends. Judging by the intense discussion she seems to get into with Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) over things in 51’s kitchen, there may be frustrations in utilizing the firehouse for such an event.
While some members of 51 deal with personal issues, it looks like the team leaders are stepping up during a major call. Boden, Casey, and Severide are all seen together, perhaps planning their next strategy for how to rescue civilians safely and efficiently.
The episode trailer did show the trio springing into action when a human chain requires their assistance, so maybe their skills and genius will come in handy once again. Since there’s a new truck coming into play during this episode, that could be a great resource to have on hand during a complex call.
