Chicago Fire star hints things are about to get 'awkward' for one central couple

While we came into Chicago Fire season 13 hoping that Carver and Violet would be able to overcome the obstacles thrown their way in the season 12 finale and get back together, a swift reunion has proven not to be in the cards and we’re starting to wonder if the ship might have sailed.
Carver came back to Chicago with a new woman in his life and with things between Carver and Violet remaining icy, Violet eventually decided to put herself back out there which led to her meeting a charming new man in Flynn.
Although Carver might be back on the market now that Tori has skipped town, it seems we might not get the chance to see the flame between the pair reignite immediately. In fact, according to Chicago Fire star Jake Lockett, it seems what fans should be expecting is for things to get awkward quickly.
“I feel like there’s opportunity there, but now Flynn’s in the picture,” Lockett told TVLine when asked about the potential for Carver and Violet’s relationship to pivot away from icy interactions and avoidance. “So I’m looking at it from, like, the 20,000-foot view. It feels like it could get awkward quick.”
Things might be awkward between the former couple, but that doesn’t mean the feelings that they shared have gone away. In fact, in Lockett’s eyes, it’s hard not to imagine Carver is still in love with Violet.
“Oh, man. I think it’d be hard not to be after how their relationship went last season. I think it’d be hard to walk away from that and, in a couple of months, just completely be over something like that. That’s something that, in my opinion, would take a little time.”
So could time heal all wounds? Well, that’s certainly what fans are hoping for. As much as we adore Flynn, there’s no denying that Carver and Violet are the real endgame here and now that Tori has left town we’re one step closer to the reunion we’ve been anxiously awaiting.
That doesn’t mean we think the reunion between Carver and Violet will get together right away, after all, Carver has to unpack his breakup with Tori and Violet is in a new relationship, but we’re optimistic that the pair will find their way back to one another sometime this season!
