"Post Mortem" is not the title of an easygoing and low risk episode. The phrase, which means an "examination of a dead body to determine the cause of death," is going to dictate the pace and the tone of the upcoming Chicago Fire episode in which Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) returns.
There's been a lot of anticipation surrounding the episode, which airs Wednesday, April 16. We're all excited to see Boden after his season 12 departure, and we're curious to see how the former Chief deals with his troubled successor, Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney). These elements are more than enough to sustain a compelling episode. But apparently, there's more.
Eamonn Walker gears fans up for a huge loss

Walker recently discussed the episode with Deadline, and he revealed that a beloved Chicago Fire character may be lost as a result of a tragic accident. "Somebody got left behind in a fire, and that somebody was a firefighter," the actor revealed. "That is a no-no and should never, ever happen." It already sounded bad when we assumed that the firefighter in question was a peripheral character, perhaps even someone we haven't met before from a different firehouse.
No such luck. Eamonn Walker confirmed that the firefighter is going to be someone we know and love. "Because they were left behind, possibly by the end of this episode, we may lose them," the actor said. "It's one of your favorites... You might even freak out." Consider us freaked out. Walker went on to detail the ways in which his character will have to contend with this nightmare.
"Deputy Commissioner Bowden has to turn up at Firehouse 51 and let all officers and the chief know they are being investigated," Walker explained. "And we have to prep just in case we lose this person. Possibly, a head will roll." The head rolling speaks to the growing concern that the aforementioned Pascal is not fit to lead Firehouse 51 after the sudden death of his wife, Monica (KaDee Strickland).
Chief Pascal's leadership will be questioned

The last few episodes have seen the character struggle to focus on the job, and even put his life at risk in order to save others. It's wildly out of character with the Pascal we met during the season 13 premiere, and it's something that is going to come under scrutiny in the aftermath of this pending tragedy.
Walker knows we're excited to see Boden and Pascal cross paths after a season of build up. Given that we could lose one of our favorite characters in the process, however, this confrontation of 51 chiefs past and present may get overshadowed!
