It seems the worlds of Chicago Fire and Chicago Fire FC are about to collide in celebration of National First Responders Day!

In celebration of National First Responders Day on October 28, stars from Chicago Fire are set to make a special appearance at the Chicago Fire FC match honoring the real-life first responders and their contributions to the city of Chicago! The evening will unite the two iconic Chicago brands in a tribute to the city’s hometown heroes, which just so happens to fittingly fall on a One Chicago Wednesday!

“As the show marks 15 seasons during a historic 100-year celebration for NBC, the magic of Chicago has always been in the community," said Chicago Fire showrunner Victor Teran. "We look forward to working alongside Chicago Fire FC to honor local heroes for their unwavering dedication and courage.”

So far, it has not yet been revealed which members of the Chicago Fire cast will be dropping in to participate in the First Responders Day, so we’ll have to see who from the cast drops in to partake in Chicago Fire FC’s celebration. What we do know is that a handful of lucky Chicago first responders will get to enjoy the game alongside the Chicago Fire cast in a VIP suite to watch the game and will be recognized for their service during the match.

“As a Club deeply rooted in Chicago, we’re proud to use our platform to celebrate the people who help protect, heal and serve our city and its surrounding areas,” said Dan Moriarty, Chief Marketing Officer at Chicago Fire FC. “We’re bringing Chicago Fire FC and NBC’s Chicago Fire together in a meaningful way to thank the real firefighters, paramedics, and first responders who serve our communities every day. We’re honored to recognize local first responders during our Fan Appreciation Night.”

As part of the celebration, Chicago Fire FC is marking the occasion with a special ticket pack offer for all local first responders, including those in healthcare, firefighting, and law enforcement fields! These special ticket packs include unique commemorative Chicago Fire FC jerseys with designs for each of the fields of work.

This marks the first major collaboration for the two brands, and we’re certainly hoping that the crossover efforts might eventually extend to NBC’s One Chicago franchise. While we’ve seen the various members of the One Chicago shows repping various Chicago sports teams with episodes filmed at Soldier Field and Wrigley Field with nods to the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs, the franchise has somehow never referenced the Chicago Fire FC team.

It would certainly be fun to hear the Chicago Fire team talk about attending a Chicago Fire FC game, and we’re sure the show’s writers could have a little fun in the process with a wink to the club sharing a name with the show. We’d also love to see a member of the Chicago Fire FC team make a guest appearance, as it’s always fun when Chicago icons pop up in the One Chicago franchise for a quick cameo in an episode!

Don’t miss the Chicago Fire FC National First Responders Day event on Wednesday, October 28, and be sure to check out a new episode of Chicago Fire that night at 9/8c on NBC!
