Chicago Med bids farewell to yet another cast member in season 10 episode 4

In an unexpected turn of events, Chicago Med has said goodbye to yet another character whose exit came in the fourth episode of the show’s tenth season. That’s right, yet another actor has left Med.

After three seasons, it seems Luigi Sottile’s time playing Sean Archer on Chicago Med has come to a close. That’s right, it seems that Dean Archer’s son is leaving the Windy City behind and we’ve seen the last of Sean, at least for the time being it seems. 

At the beginning of the episode, we learn via Dean’s girlfriend Margot, that she’d fired Sean from the rehab center he’s been working at as a recovery coach as it seems there have been a few too many conflicts with his views on how they should best treat those at the rehab center. Dean is understandably shocked by the news and worries about how it will impact Sean’s sobriety. 

Across the episode, Dean attempts to get in touch with Sean but not a single message is returned so Dean races over to Sean’s house the minute he gets off shift. To Dean’s surprise, Sean is packing up and he tells his dad he’s going to be leaving town. As Sean informs his dad, he needs a change of scenery and he’s leaving Chicago to move to Florida to live with his mom for a bit. 

The news shocks Dean, but he ultimately supports Sean’s decision and agrees to accompany him on the drive down to Florida to help get him settled in.

The door is very much left open for Sean to potentially return down the line, but it seems we’ve seen the last of Sean for the immediate future. 

Sottile is the latest actor to leave Chicago Med in season 10, following the departures of Dominic Rains as Dr. Crockett Marcel, Alet Taylor as Liliana Wapniarski, and Conor Perkins as Dr. Zach Hudgins.
