Chicago Med is truly enjoying quite the resurgence in its later years! For the second consecutive year, Chicago Med has finished the year as the most-watched NBC series of the fall, ranking above all other scripted and non-scripted shows on the network.

Through the first weeks of the 2025-26 TV season, Chicago Med has been averaging 5.39 million total viewers, making it the most-watched series on NBC of its 15 scripted and non-scripted series airing in prime time. This puts it ahead of every other program airing on NBC including fellow One Chicago dramas Chicago Fire and Chicago PD, though both are doing solidly in the ratings as well.

Chicago Fire is the second-most watched-series of the fall with an average of 5.08 million viewers, while Chicago PD is the fourth-most-watched series with 4.19 million viewers. Sandwiched between the two series is The Voice, which ranks as the third-most watched-show of the fall on NBC with its Monday and Tuesday night broadcasts. Here’s a look at how NBC’s original series have fared thus far this fall:

  1. Chicago Med (5.39 million total viewers)
  2. Chicago Fire (5.08 million total viewers)
  3. The Voice, Tuesday Night (4.87 million total viewers)
  4. The Voice, Monday Night (4.32 million total viewers)
  5. Chicago PD (4.19 million total viewers)
  6. Law & Order: SVU (3.58 million total viewers)
  7. Law & Order (3.51 million total viewers)
  8. Happy's Place (2.92 million total viewers)
  9. Law & Order: Organized Crime (2.50 million total viewers)
  10. St. Denis Medical (2.33 million total viewers)
  11. Dateline (2.13 million total viewers)
  12. Brilliant Minds (2.03 million total viewers)
  13. Stumble (1.82 million total viewers)
  14. On Brand with Jimmy Fallon (1.66 million total viewers)
  15. The Paper (1.55 million total viewers)

For the One Chicago shows to rank as the most-watched series of the fall is an incredible feat, especially when you consider how long the shows have been on. While many shows tend to fall off in popularity the longer they go on, the One Chicago shows show no signs of slowing down – though, we’re not at all surprised. The series remain just as entertaining as they did when they first began, with Chicago Med, in particular, enjoying quite a creative resurgence in the last two years

Under the direction of Allen MacDonald, Chicago Med is delivering some of its strongest episodes yet and fans are taking notice. In fact, Chicago Med has become the most-watched medical drama on broadcast thus far this fall. Its same-day ratings are actually twice as high as any other medical series on broadcast with Chicago Med coming in above Doc (2.47 million viewers), Watson (2.45 million viewers), Grey’s Anatomy (2.16 million viewers), and Brilliant Minds (2.03 million viewers).

Editor’s Note: Rating statistics are based on The Nielsen Company live plus same-day viewing totals as reported by TV Series Finale.
