It looks like Netflix has given Chicago Med fans a new reason to get excited about the third season of its hit comedy Nobody Wants This!
With production underway on season 3, Netflix has announced a wave of new cast additions for the upcoming third season of Nobody Wants This, which is set to arrive later this year. The list includes some amazing new additions, including a beloved member of the Chicago Med cast!
Steven Weber has joined the season 3 cast in a guest capacity, meaning we’ll likely see Weber pop up in an episode or two in the new season. As confirmed by Netflix, Weber will be playing Julian, a funny, grounded, cool, and secure divorced dad, a role that will undoubtedly allow Weber to show off his comedic chops, which is always fun for Chicago Med viewers given that we don’t often see Dr. Archer cracking jokes in the ED.
It’s going to be fun to see how exactly Weber’s character fits into the upcoming third season but the focus on him being a divorced dad makes us wonder if perhaps his story could be woven into Sasha (Timothy Simons) and Esther’s (Jackie Tohn) storyline. The couple hit a rough patch in season 2, with many worried that the pair could be heading towards divorce in season 3 if things don’t improve in their relationship.
Could it be that Julian comes into the fold in a manner that allows him to offer his insights into his own failed marriage in a way that helps Sasha and Esther? That is certainly a possibility, and we’d love to see Weber playing off the duo in the season.
It’s also possible that Julian will be a part of Joanne's (Kristen Bell) Judaism conversion class. Many of the new guest characters added to the season 3 cast seem to have a direct connection to the Judaism conversion class Joanne will be participating in, so perhaps Julian will end up being someone she meets in the class at some point in the season as well.
We’ll have to wait to see how the writers work Weber into the upcoming season, but Chicago Med fans won’t want to miss Weber’s guest spot when the new season of Nobody Wants This drops later this year on Netflix! And fear not, this Nobody Wants This guest role will not have any impact on Weber's status on Chicago Med, which recently wrapped filming on its eleventh season!
