Within the shared world of the One Chicago shows, one of the biggest rites of passage is completing the franchise trifecta by appearing on all three series. It’s an achievement that firmly solidifies an actor’s place within the franchise and is a major milestone for any member of the One Chicago franchise. It’s always exciting when an actor from any of the three One Chicago shows gets the chance to complete their One Chicago trifecta by guesting on a sister series within the franchise.

That exciting milestone is about to happen for one Chicago Med star, who is set to cross over to Chicago Fire for the very first time with an appearance in the show’s sixth episode!

New cast listings for Chicago Fire season 15, episode 6, “Over the Edge,” confirm that Chicago Med star Kim Quindlen will guest star in the episode, marking the first time that Nurse Kacy will cross over into the OG One Chicago series!

There is no particular plot line in the episode synopsis that teases a storyline involving a trip to Gaffney, so it seems safe to assume that Kacy’s guest appearance will come when Violet and Novak drop off a patient at Med following a call. However, there’s no telling if the show might surprise us by working Kacy’s guest appearance into the episode in another manner, perhaps by having her work alongside Violet and Novak on their fundraising efforts for the Joint Duty Program.

Given how many times Violet and Novak end up at Med, it's honestly surprising that Kacy hasn't crossed paths with the paramedics before on Chicago Fire. We can absolutely imagine the trio hanging out together off-shift, and we'd love to see the women of Gaffney and Firehouse 51 enjoy a girls' night out sometime in the future.

Regardless of what will be bringing Kacy to Chicago Fire in this particular episode, it’ll be fun to see her make her debut on the series, which has somehow taken a bit longer than one might expect.

Quindlen joined the Chicago Med cast late in season 10 when Kacy came to Gaffney to lend a hand as the hospital was in need of nurses. Our traveling nurse ended up putting down roots at the hospital following a guest stint, taking on a larger role in season 11 due in large part to the positive reception to Kacy’s often blunt humor.

Fans got the chance to see Quindlen cross over into Chicago PD earlier this year as part of the One Chicago crossover event, with Kacy appearing in Chicago PD’s portion of the crossover in addition to Chicago Med’s hour of the event.

Now that Kacy is confirmed to make her Chicago Fire debut, we’re definitely excited to see which character or characters she ends up crossing paths with. We’re also hoping for a dose of her signature humor in the episode and hope the show gives her at least one fun one-liner during Kacy’s screen time in the episode.

We’ll see just what the writers have planned when Chicago Fire season 15, episode 6 airs on Wednesday, November 11, at 9/8c on NBC!
