Chicago PD spoilers: What to expect in Chicago PD season 9 episode 11 (Preview)

Chicago PD finally returned with its first new episode of 2022 last week and the writers did not waste any time in throwing new curveballs viewers way with an ending that left viewers on the edges of their seats!

In the episode, the team worked to find a missing child but it was the personal drama that unfolded between Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Ruzek (John Patrick Flueger) during the investigation that left fans reeling.

Throughout the episode, it was looking as though Burgess was attempting to ice Ruzek out in building up some walls to protect herself and Makayla but by the episode’s end, the on-again-off-again couple agreed to move with one another to essentially co-parent together.

That twist was a welcomed one; however, the same could not be said about the twist thrown our way in the closing moments of the episode when it was revealed a family member had come forward and was petitioning for custody of Makayla.

Just what awaits us this Wednesday night? Below we share the promo, synopsis, and photos for episode 11, “Lies.”

Although we’d have loved to have seen a hint of what’s to come next for Burgess and Ruzek after the shocking revelation from last week’s episode, the promo for episode 11 instead shifts the focus to the Intelligence Unit’s latest case and the complication it promises to bring.

In the promo, the team works to bring down a drug dealer pedaling deadly drugs and must work with an informant in order to do so. Considering the way in which the promo questions whether the informant can be trusted and the precarious situation he ends up putting Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) in as the promo comes to a close, there definitely is cause for concern.

Similar to the promo, the synopsis for Chicago PD episode 11 focuses heavily on this week’s case and fails to offer up any hints of what’s to come next for Burgess and Ruzek.

Instead, it looks like Atwater will once again be stepping into the spotlight as part of the episode’s lead storyline. As the synopsis for the episode teases, Atwater will once again find himself struggling to balance his personal and professional life leading him to make a bold decision.

Here’s how NBC officially describes season 9, episode 11:

"Voight employs his new informant to help solve a tricky drug trafficking case. Atwater, who once again struggles to reconcile his personal and professional life, reaches a decision."
