For the first time since October, Chicago PD is about to have all six core members of the Intelligence Unit back together on screen in an episode!

For the first time in over five months, Chicago PD fans are about to finally see all six members of the Intelligence Unit back together again!

That’s right, it’s somehow been over five months since we’ve seen the six actors who make up the Intelligence Unit on Chicago PD all together in an episode. That will finally change in Chicago PD season 13, episode 16, when Jason Beghe (Voight), Marina Squerciati (Burgess), Patrick John Flueger (Ruzek), LaRoyce Hawkins (Atwater), Benjamin Levy Aguilar (Torres), and Arienne Mandi (Imani) are all featured in the same episode of the show for the first time since episode 3’s release way back on October 15, 2025.

So how exactly has the show managed to go 12 episodes without having all of the Intelligence Unit present and accounted for?

A large part of the show’s inability to feature the six members of the Intelligence Unit together on screen stems from Flueger’s leave of absence, which kept him off the show for an extended period of time. Flueger’s final appearance on the show came in episode 5, and he didn’t return again until episode 14. With Flueger out for an extended period, this prevented the show from having all six members of the Intelligence Unit together on screen for months; however, this stretch of time is extended due to the fact that the two episodes before Flueger's leave of absence began were without a member of the core unit, and the first two episodes since his return were also without two key characters.

Ruzek’s final episode was episode 5, but the Intelligence Unit was not complete in the episode, as it was without Aguilar. Meanwhile, episode 4 failed to feature an appearance from Hawkins, with Atwater sidelined that episode.

When Ruzek finally returned in episode 14, Mandi sat out the episode as we learned Imani was dealing with an issue at her apartment and had taken some time off. We thought the full Intelligence Unit would be back together in episode 15, but then Beghe was unexpectedly sidelined with the episode explaining that Voight was out of town for recertification

Thankfully, after more than five months, we’re going to finally see all six members of the Intelligence Unit together again working a case when episode 16 releases on April 1. The episode promises to be a Torres-led episode in which he attempts to stop the cycle of violence after a teen is killed in an act of revenge, but photos from the episode confirm that every member of the Intelligence Unit will be on hand to work the case, which is truly exciting.

It’s wild that we’ve gone over five months without seeing the full team together, and it’s going to be exciting to see Voight, Burgess, Ruzek, Atwater, Torres, and Imani finally reunited as a complete team after all this time! Hopefully, as we enter the final stretch of the season, we'll get to see the core group together with more consistency as this show is at its best when its full ensemble is present!
