Chicago PD alum Sophia Bush makes Grey’s Anatomy debut in new promo

We might not get to see Sophia Bush return to Chicago PD, but fans can once again look forward to getting to see Bush grace their small screens in primetime very soon via Grey’s Anatomy. 

Bush is set to join ABC’s long-running medical drama in what is being described as a recurring role which will begin with the show’s sixth episode, “You Make My Heart Explode,” airing Nov. 7. And thanks to the newest promo for the episode, we get to see Bush make her Grey’s Anatomy debut in a teaser that is sure to raise some eyebrows and leave fans wanting more! 

In the promo, we meet Bush’s character Dr. Cass Beckman as she and her husband, Dr. David Beckman, bump into Teddy and Owen who are out for dinner. Teddy seems to confide in Cass about the rough patch the pair are in and how they’re scheduling sex which is when Cass reveals she and her husband also went through a rough patch and decided to open their marriage as a solution. 

We don’t get to see Teddy’s reaction to the suggestion, but the snippet definitely has us eager to learn more about Cass and to get to see how she shakes things up on the show! 

Outside of lending some advice to Teddy to help with her marriage woes, we know that the character will interestingly not be working at Grey Sloan Memorial but instead is a doctor at nearby Seattle Presbyterian.

We also know that Cass is a trauma surgeon who is described as being “amiable, fun, and a little misery around the edges.” We also know that her husband is going to be a cardiothoracic surgeon at Grey Sloan, so it’ll be interesting to see how he enters the fold and whether we’ll get to see either doctor scrubbing in for surgery at Grey Sloan on any of the season’s upcoming cases.  What we don't yet know is exactly how many episodes Bush will appear in this season, but we're hoping she'll become a key player in the show's current season!

While this is Bush’s first time on Grey’s Anatomy, she’s no stranger to medical dramas having most recently starred in the short-lived CBS medical drama Good Sam, which ran for one season, and previously made guest appearances on fellow One Chicago drama Chicago Med during her time playing Detective Erin Lindsay on Chicago PD.
