Atwater is about to step back into the spotlight on Chicago PD, and it seems the show has lined up the return of a key character in his season 13 journey for the character’s next spotlight episode!
As confirmed via newly released photos from Chicago PD season 13, episode 18, “The Wicked River,” Karen Obilom will be back as Officer Tasha Fox, marking her first appearance back on the show since late January. That’s right, Tasha is about to return, which means we should be getting a major update on her and Kevin’s relationship and perhaps an update on the pregnancy and their plans for when the baby arrives.
The newly released photos make it clear that Tahsa will play a key role in the episode and that this is not just a small cameo as we saw when Tasha last appeared on the show. That last appearance came via episode 11, “On the Way,” in which she came to town and revealed to Kevin that she was pregnant with their child. Since dropping that bombshell on the fans, Tasha hasn’t appeared again, which has led fans to wonder where she and Kevin stood following the pregnancy announcement. Well, we’re about to find out, it seems!
In the first of five newly released photos from episode 18, we see Kevin and Tasha out together at dinner on a date.
We then see the pair strolling along together sometime after their dinner has ended, walking through the streets of Chicago. Given their body language, it seems the pair are having quite an intense conversation, which has us wondering if the dinner conversation didn't exactly end on the best of notes.
Their romantic stroll will ultimately be interrupted when they stumble upon the scene of what turns into a deadly house party, which leads the Intelligence Unit to uncover a family’s alarming secret. This is evident by the third photo released by NBC, which finds Kevin and Tasha standing together outside of an ambulance on the scene of the house party - a moment that connects to the promo for the episode, which saw Kevin carrying a young woman out of the house.
After stumbling upon the deadly house party together, it seems that Tasha will then stick around to work with Kevin and the Intelligence Unit on the case. This is confirmed via a pair of photos that find Tasha in the bullpen working alongside Kevin and the team on the case, which is sure to be interesting as this will be the first time Kevin and Tasha will be working together in the field since she announced her pregnancy.
We’re sure that Kevin is going to be extra aware of things in the field while working the case with Tasha, not wanting her to put herself and their baby in the line of fire.
While we're excited to see the pair working together on the case, we're also a bit interested to see how their conversations throughout the episode unfold. The synopsis for the episode teases that Kevin is faced with a personal turning point, and we imagine that turning point is connected to Tasha's pregnancy.
Knowing that Tasha is planning on keeping the baby, we imagine the pair have a lot to discuss about how they're going to make this work given she is based out of Miami while Kevin resides in Chicago. This is a conversation we've been dreading due to the fact that we hate to even entertain the idea of the pregnancy storyline being used as an exit storyline for LaRoyce Hawkins. We know Kevin wants to be part of his child's life, which means he's got a big decision ahead unless Tasha by chance considers moving back to Chicago.
