As much as we wish that our favorite stars from the One Chicago universe would remain on their respective shows for their entire run, the franchise tends to have a revolving door of cast members. While some stars have lasted longer than others, there are few original series stars remaining. But the silver lining of these cast exits is following the actors to their next projects.
Each of the series has lost cast members that fans adored, but Chicago PD losing Jesse Lee Soffer and Tracy Spiridakos was a tough blow for fans. Thankfully, both stars made surprise returns in the most recent crossover event, reprising their roles as Jay Halstead and Hailey Upton for the first time since they departed the series. The stars also have great new shows currently on or in the works.
Soffer's latest television project takes him to CBS for a potential new drama series from Chicago PD co-creator Matt Olmstead. Meanwhile, Spiridakos headlines the new crime drama series Anna Pigeon for USA Network and Crave. Following the debut of the show's first episode, there's some celebrations in order for the majorly historic premiere ratings in the United States.
Anna Pigeon debuts with historic ratings on USA Network
After making its premiere on the USA Network on Aug. 7, Anna Pigeon debuted with the cable network's biggest original scripted series launch in nearly a decade. Deadline reports that with its average viewership number of 2.5 million viewers across its first three days of release, the series has arrived with the highest-rated USA Network scripted debut in eight years.
Anna Pigeon aired on multiple NBCUniversal cable networks, with its premiere also being show on the E! Network and Syfy in addition to USA, helping the series get more eyeballs and attract the 18-49 demographic. The series excelled in both viewership and its key demo ratings after only one episode aired. Spiridakos' Chicago PD definitely showed up to support her new series!
Unfortunately, Anna Pigeon isn't currently to stream on a major streaming service, like NBCUniversal's Peacock. But if you happened to miss out on the premiere episode and any episode thereafter, the series is available to stream on the USA Network's website and the first episode is available to watch on YouTube for free. The first season contains 10 episodes and new episodes air on Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on USA, leading up to the finale in October.
Spiridakos stars in the series as the titular Anna Pigeon, who retreated from her former life in the city in the wake of an unfortunate loss. Dealing with grief, Anna became a park ranger and spends her days avoiding her own reality while investigating and solving crimes in national parks. The show borrows its premise from the mystery book series written by Nevada Barr.
It's no shock that Chicago PD fans followed Tracy Spiridakos to Anna Pigeon, which marks the star's first series regular role since leaving the NBC police drama back in 2024. It's also Spiridakos' first foray back on screen in general, following closely behind her return to One Chicago earlier this year. Clearly, she's in for a bright future with her new project after its historic ratings debut.
