One Chicago is pulling out all the stops for its 2025 crossover event. All hands will be on deck for the three hour event that has been years in the making. It'll be fun to see characters interact and bonds made in the line of duty. The thing that has most fans curious, though, is which character will be put in harm's way.
There's always an element of risk when it comes to navigating disasters or criminal cases, but the crossover event is an especially harrowing ordeal for the casts of all three One Chicago shows. As a result, we decided to go through and earmark the characters that we are most concerned about.
Stella Kidd
Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) has had her fair share of close calls. She was attacked on the night of her wedding, and she survived a bomb explosion during season 11. She's going to have to fight once more, though, during the One Chicago crossover.
The promo confirms that Kidd will be stuck underground, alongside several victims, while teams from above try to get them loose. There's not only the risk of collapse upon her, but the threat of gradually losing oxygen as well. It doesn't look promising.
Adam Ruzek
Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) doesn't have much in common with Stella Kidd. They have never gotten much screen time together, but that is going to change when Ruzek finds himself trapped in the same precarious underground situation as his Chicago Fire peer.
Ruzek will also be forced to keep his cool while his life is threatened, and make sure that civilians are safe while he tries to figure out a solution. We are confident he'll make it, but still. It will be quite a task getting to safety.
Trudy Platt
Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) is a peripheral Chicago PD character, but she is going to be one of the main points of emotion during the One Chicago finale. The character is seriously injured amidst the chaos and is subsequently rushed to the hospital in the promo.
Platt's husband, Mouch (Christian Stolte), can be seen looking horrified as she's wheeled in to the Med set and the severity of her injury is being determined. Exciting television, but it's going to be wildly intense as well.
Chicago Med appears to the lone franchise in the clear when it comes to have a main character in danger, but the heat is still going to very much be felt. Chicago Med showrunner Allen MacDonald told TV Insider that Dr. Caitlin Lennox (Sarah Ramos) will be very much pushed to the brink in terms of trying to save a Chicago PD character. "Everyone has to lean on and trust each other to minimize the loss of lives," he explained.
