The series finale for FBI: International certainly did not feel like a final episode, with lingering questions left as it appeared open ended for fans who loved the show. This is mainly in part due to the fact that the series finished filming before the cancellation news hit. So what happened in the episode and what was left open?

In the episode, Wes traveled to Japan to search for the accomplice of a serial killer who was connected with multiple murders of young women who also worked as escorts. Even though both he and Officer Reiko Isokawa found one of the men, they also needed to look for the other, especially when it was discovered there were more missing girls connected to the crimes.

Even though they found a suspect in a cab driver who was seen in the area where a young woman named Heather went missing, without hard evidence, the police in Japan weren’t exactly cooperative. This was mainly due to how influential the family of one of the killers was.

Wes did his best to keep his cool, especially since it would not look good to cause strife when things worked differently in Japan than at home. While Wes was sure that they had found their suspect, they still couldn’t get anything concrete.

Eventually, once the team had access to surveillance and other information, they discovered that one young woman had survived an attack, but then withdrew her complaint. Wes went to talk to her and discovered that she had saved the dress she was wearing since blood from her captive had gotten on it.

When they went to find their suspect, Lloyd, he was missing. Now they had to rely on what they knew about their other killer, especially since they couldn’t just go talk to his family. A meeting was set up, and his mother was willing to allow them to search her son’s property, where she had noticed someone had tried to gain access recently.

This access gave them proof that there were more women who had gone missing than previously thought. When Reiko was suspended for breaking protocol, Wes had to go on his own to find Lloyd. Eventually, Wes tracked him down with help from the team and got him to admit to where Heather was being kept.

He did this by seeming to promise to let Lloyd take a cyanide capsule. Once Wes rescued Heather and she reunited with her mother, Wes pretended to give Lloyd the pill back. He gave Lloyd the packaging, but had removed the pill. Wes was not only able to solve the case on his own, but he also made sure to thank Reiko for her assistance, despite how things played out.

After the case, Wes made the decision to introduce himself to his sister, Delila. We saw them meet, although she seemed confused about his presence, which makes sense if she didn’t know much about him.

This was one cliffhanger the show left off with, but it is likely that Wes will want to get to know his sister. Another cliffhanger involved the job offer that was between Cam and Andre. The audience saw them prepare to find out who would be part of GS-14, but never actually answered who was getting the job offer.

Hopefully, we will get to find out what could have been in store via an update on FBI, but there is a chance we might never learn who got the job in the end.
