FBI spinoff stars give heartfelt reactions to shocking cancelations

Nobody saw the cancelation of one, let alone two spinoffs, coming.
“The Kill Floor” – A member of the Fly Team goes missing as the hunt for Greg Csonka continues in Paris. Meanwhile, Vo’s life hangs in the balance after being shot, on FBI: INTERNATIONAL, Tuesday, Jan. 28 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. We focus on the One Chicago franchise on this site. It's in the title, after all. But we acknowledge that One Chicago is parter of a larger, Dick Wolf-led ecosystem of shows. Law and Order and FBI may do their own thing for the most part, but these franchises are intertwined with One Chicago in a big way.

This intertwining is what makes the FBI cancelations such a surprise. The franchise had two of its spinoff titles yanked by CBS, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted, on Tuesday. This means the flagship show is the only active title that is slated to return for more seasons. The cast and crew of these shows is similarly shocked.

Eva-Jane Willis, who plays Megan "Smitty" Garreson on FBI: International, issued a statement on the cancelations to Us Weekly. She admitted to being saddened by CBS' decision, especially given all the stories that had yet to be told.

Keisha Castle-Hughes hyped up current seasons

Moving On
“Moving On” – The Fugitive Task Force investigates a series of deadly fires involving the descendants of those who caused the infamous 1985 MOVE bombing in Philadelphia. Meanwhile, Nina’s sister turns to her in a time of need, on FBI: MOST WANTED, Tuesday, Jan. 28 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*.

"Of course I’m sad the show must come to an end, but I want to thank Wolf Entertainment and CBS for everything," she asserted. "In particular the incredible tour of Europe! We have memories to last us a lifetime."

Keisha Castle-Hughes, who plays Hana Gibson on FBI: Most Wanted, was similarly appreciative of the time and effort put in to making the show what it is. "Thanks to Wolf Films and to CBS, David Hudgins and Ken Girotti," she wrote. "For supporting an incredible run of the show. I will treasure the memories and the friendships built over my time on the series and the years spent."

Both Willis and Castle-Hughes wisely reminded fans that the shows may not be coming back for future seasons, but there is still lots of fun and excitement to be had for the rest of their respective final seasons. "It's bittersweet but we are invigorated and determined to close out Season 6 with hard work and love," Castle-Hughes asserted. "And give you the best season yet! This is for you!"

Eva-Jane Willis praised FBI fans for their loyalty

The Other Hard Part
“The Other Hard Part” – When a U.S. ambassador is taken hostage at a TV station in the Netherlands alongside 70 civilians, the Fly Team is forced to work quickly to find out who they’re up against. Meanwhile, Wes works to earn the respect of his new team, on FBI: INTERNATIONAL, Tuesday, Oct. 22 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day

Willis had similarly high praise for the current season of FBI: International. She assured fans that the "finish line" is still around the corner, and we are all going to want to see how the show ends. "Great episodes coming up so stick with us all the way to the finish line," she added. "We’re not done yet!"

Of course, both actresses made it clear that neither show could have been possible without the fans. They are what made FBI franchise what it is today, and they will continue to do so in the future. It's not been an easy day for the franchise, but it will live on through the flagship show and other spinoffs.
