FBI fans are going through it right now. The franchise went from three titles to just one in the span of a week. CBS confirmed that it would not be renewing FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International after their current seasons end, and trying again with a new slate of spinoffs.
While it's exciting to get new FBI shows, it's going to be tough to say goodbye to the characters we've come to know and love on Most Wanted and International. There is, however, some glimmers of hope. Zeeko Zaki, the star of the flagship show, sat down with TV Line to discuss the franchise's future, and potential plans to incorporate characters from now-canceled titles.
Zeeko Zaki is hopeful about FBI's "future"

Zaki made it clear that he does not an inside line to what comes next, but he does assure fans that the worlds that Most Wanted and International created over multiple seasons will not be scrapped. They may be stripped of parts instead of allowed to flourish on their own, but they will remain.
"Maybe there will be opportunities for me to work with all of them in the future," the actor explained. "Their worlds will stay alive regardless of the shows." Zaki admitted that he would have liked a chance to collaborate with Most Wanted and International actors while their shows were still on the air. It has happened before, but there's some stuff that was left on the table. Especially given the scope of the International setting.
"I would’ve loved to do a few more crossovers and get to work with the entirety of the cast and stuff like that, so I’m a little sad about that," Zaki added. "I’ve always been jealous of our International cast and crew that get to film over in Europe. But we’ll see. Who knows?"
The actor also teased FBI's new spinoff

TV Line inquired about the fates of two FBI: International stars, Vinessa Vidotto and Jesse Lee Soffer, and Zaki clarified that did not have an inside scoop on what would happen with their characters, but would love to see them reappear on FBI. "We stay positive," he explained. "And hope for everyone to get as much work as possible."
In addition to Zaki's Most Wanted and International comments, the actor teased the incorporation of the upcoming FBI: CIA spinoff. He told the outlet that he's thrilled for fans to experience the different energy that CIA will bring. "With the banter between the [FBI and CIA] agents," he teased. "It's going to be a different dynamic."
Hopefully there will be room for FBI spinoffs present and future.
