The California wildfires have done a lot of damage. They have destroyed homes on a level that was previously unprecedented, and displaced thousands of families. It has been a trying time for the city of Los Angeles and its inhabitants.
The fires have also impacted the entertainment industry. Award shows and concerts have been delayed or outright canceled. And networks have decided to pull shows dealing with fire from its weekly lineups out of respect. Tracy Spiridakos may not have been on Chicago Fire, but her history with the One Chicago universe make her willingness to spread the word about the fires worth noting.
Tracy Spiridakos shared an LA Times story
Spiridakos, who played Hailey Upton on Chicago PD, shared information about the wildfires on her Instagram. She reposted a Los Angeles Times article about the devastation caused by the fires. The headline of the article reads: "Resources to help those affected by the L.A. County wildfires."
She did not speak on the matter directly, but her decision to use her platform to shine a light on the fires have made it clear that Spiridakos wants to help. Interestingly, enough, Spiridakos is not the only former One Chicago star to make headlines for their association with the wildfires. Brian J. White, who appeared on season 4 of Chicago Fire, actually helped make a citizen's arrest on a potential arsonist.
Spiridakos' absence on Chicago PD is still being felt, but the entire show was absent from the NBC lineup on Wednesday, January 15. All three One Chicago shows were said to be airing, but they were pulled by the network the day before. They were pushed back a week, to January 22. Many fans were confused by the decision, and speculated that the wildfires had something to do with it.
One Chicago returns to NBC on January 22
CBS, for example, pulled a rerun of Fire Country the week before. It turns out that the One Chicago delay was not fire-related, though. Joe Biden decided to address the nation and give his farewell speech at 8 pm ET on Wednesday, and NBC decided to air it instead of Chicago Med. Since One Chicago is a package deal, all three shows were kicked back.
Don't worry, though, because the One Chicago crossover is still scheduled to occur at the end of the month. Spiridakos, meanwhile, will next appear in the film After.
