There have been a lot of comings and goings over the course of the current season of Grey’s Anatomy and it seems the revolving door is about to bring yet another familiar face back into the mix… though this one isn’t a face fans are likely going to be excited to see.
As teased in the promo for the upcoming twelfth episode of Grey’s Anatomy’s current season, “Ridin’ Solo,” Greg Germann will be returning as Dr. Tom Koracick and it seems his latest return is going to give fans yet another reason to dislike his character.
The episode will see Meredith and Amelia attempting to get funding for their Alzheimer’s research, but as they go to present their proposal to potential investors they’re shocked to learn that someone else has presented a similar proposal already. How could this be? Enter, Koracick who comes waltzing into the door seemingly revealing himself as the other party who pitched Meredith and Ameila’s research for funding.
It seems only fitting that Koracick is about to come back to serve as a foil once again as he’s long proved to be one of the show’s most polarizing characters. Sure he’s had his redeeming moments along the way, but overall Koracick has been known to ruffle feathers and make it very hard to like him even when he’s doing something nice for someone. Clearly, his latest return is going to bring about more of the same and we’re not fully prepared for the showdown that awaits us.
Given that Koracick left Grey Sloan to move to Boston to work for the Catherine Fox Foundation, the same foundation where Meredith and Ameilia began their research, we have a feeling that he could be doing the bidding of the Fox Foundation in pursuing the research started by Meredith and Amelia. But he’s definitely barking up the wrong tree.
Meredith and Amelia have put in endless hours pursuing their Alzheimer’s research which is extremely personal to them, so there is no way they’re going to back down from this fight Koracick seems to have picked! The duo are never ones to back down from a fight and it's going to be interesting to see how this latest head-to-head with Koracick is going to end.
Could we see the trio teaming up in the end to put their heads together to get the needed funding to keep the research going in hopes of making a major breakthrough in Alzheimer’s treatment? That's definitely a possibility, but knowing Koracick there's no telling where this storyline might go.
