Lives are on the line in Grey’s Anatomy season 21, episode 8. While that’s not usually something new, these lives are on the line outside of the hospital.
We’re heading into the fall finale of Grey’s Anatomy season 21. That means a big break is coming, and this is bigger than most other networks. ABC has opted for a three-and-a-half-month break for the TGIT shows, with all three not coming back until the beginning of March. We’re sure to see some sort of major cliffhanger, but hopefully, it’s not to do with Jo and Lucas.
Jo and Lucas head out to the store in Grey’s Anatomy season 21, episode 8
Even a trip to the convenience store can’t be as simple as it is in real life when it comes to the world of Grey’s Anatomy. Lucas and Jo head out to get some ice as the hospital it out. It’s in the middle of the heatwave, and they clearly need ice for patients. Ben tells them where the convenience store is, and off they go.
This isn’t going to be a simple trip, though. The store is held at gunpoint. What’s the betting that either the owner or the gunman will end up injured. Will Lucas need to do some sort of major surgery in the middle of the field? This is usually the way it goes for the interns, right?
Back at the hospital, there will be far more patients than normal. Everyone is coming in because of the heatwave. We’re sure to see some heat-related injuries and conditions, with heat stroke being one of the most common. This is standard for these types of storylines in medical dramas.
There is the important topic of Mika in the episode, though. She’s clearly taking some time off, both to recover from her own surgery in the previous episode and to mourn the loss of her sister. However, there’s something much bigger going on for Mika. She will blame herself for Chloe’s death. After all, Mika fell asleep at the wheel, and that’s what caused the accident in the first place. She will have to live with that knowledge.
Will she turn to someone to release the burden? Is there anyone she can trust enough? While she and Jules have a deep bond, is it enough for Mika to be open and honest?

Take a look at the images from Grey’s Anatomy season 21, episode 8
The images gives us a look at a returning face. Nora, played by Floriana Lima, will return. The last we saw of her, she came to Grey Sloan Memorial in search of Hunt, knowing that he could help with a much-needed surgery. Is she back with complications? That’s certainly possible.
Of course, Hunt and Teddy are going through marital issues. It’s possible that Nora is coming back as a way to create more trouble for the couple. She could offer him the fluidity that he craves in a relationship right now.
Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 10/9c on ABC. Catch up on Hulu.
