We still have a ways to go until NCIS: Origins season 2 airs, but we’re already looking forward to who we may eventually see from the original NCIS pop up on screen. With the season one finale introducing us to a younger Lara Macy, who else might we expect?

Over the two-decade span of the show’s run, NCIS has brought us so many different characters we have come to know and love. Many of them had a past interaction with Gibbs, like Macy, who we knew had investigated Gibbs for the Hernandez murder.

NCIS: Origins brought this arc to life, and now that we know, we will also get to know Gibbs’s second wife, Diane. The showrunners teased another possible appearance by someone from NCIS: Origins.

Dwayne Pride had been introduced to the franchise as one of five fellow law enforcement officers who worked together with Gibbs on a case involving a killer. The season 11 two-parter “Crescent City” introduced the spinoff series NCIS: New Orleans before it officially began airing in 2014.

Pride has known Gibbs for decades at the time, although we don’t know for sure if they met before or after Gibbs joined NIS. Even then, it was clear the two men were good friends and had a long history as colleagues as well.

Gina Lucita Monreal, who is a co-runner on NCIS: Origins, told TVLine that they have a timeline they keep track of in their writer’s room and said, “The canon matters to us, and we never want to ignore it.”

So even though it was not confirmed we would meet the younger version of Scott Bakula’s Pride any time soon, it is a possibility given that they were both probationary agents when they took on the case with the Fed 5. Pride’s relationship with Gibbs has always been fun for fans, especially since it helped bridge both shows in the franchise together.

Even though NCIS: New Orleans may no longer be airing, having ended in 2021, this would at least allow us to get to know Dwayne Pride again. The origin series has done a good job so far of tying the past together with the present, even getting us invested in new characters, such as Randy and Lala.
