Our first poster for Chicago PD season 14 has arrived, and its release is definitely bittersweet. Every year, we always look forward to the release of the new key art for the season, as it often gives us our first look at new additions to the cast while also giving us our first official look at the returning cast.
Sure, the key art never tends to give much away in terms of spoilers, but it’s a major milestone in the lead-up to the season premiere, and it’s always fun to get to see the cast together in new promo materials. Of course, that also comes with a mix of bittersweet emotions. While it’s always fun to see the cast together, the new posters are often without key characters who exited during the offseason or are set to exit the series at the top of the season.
As the key art released ahead of the season is designed to be used throughout the season, we tend not to see departing cast members featured—especially if their exit is coming at the top of the new season. Take, for example, the Chicago Fire season 14 key art, which failed to feature Daniel Kyri’s Ritter, after it was announced that Kyri would be exiting the show early in the season.
Because NBC tends to exclude departing actors from the key art, we fully expected that LaRoyce Hawkins might not be featured on the Chicago PD season 14 key art. Thankfully, that was not the case, as Hawkins is featured on the poster for the upcoming season, making what will be his final appearance in the key art ahead of his exit.

Chicago PD star Marina Squerciati offered up our first look at the key art for the upcoming season via Instagram Stories ahead of its formal release via NBC. Once again, the key art for the show leans into hues of blue, keeping with the One Chicago color palette (orange for Chicago Fire, green for Chicago Med, and blue for Chicago PD).
Jason Beghe is front and center once again, which only makes sense given Voight remains the central lead of the show. Squerciati is then featured up front alongside him, which we love to see, as Burgess has long been a key part of the show’s DNA and is the second-most senior officer on the Intelligence Unit. The poster then includes season 14 cast members Benjamin Levy Aguilar, Patrick John Flueger, Arienne Mandi, Hawkins, and Amy Morton.
While we’d have loved to see Atwater a bit more prominently featured on the key art for the season, we’re honestly just relieved to see him included! It would have been easy for NBC to exclude Hawkins given that he’ll be exiting the show at the top of season 14, but thankfully we get to see him make one final appearance in the Chicago PD key art before his exit.
Chicago PD season 14 premieres Wednesday, October 7 at 10/9c on NBC!
