NCIS has lots of character arcs to resolve in the second half of season 22. There's been talks of new information about Agent Alden Parker (Gary Cole) coming to light, but the arc that fans are interested in getting more of is the romance between Dr. Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) and NCIS Agent Jessica Knight (Katrina Law).

The fan favorite characters were a couple for multiple seasons, but they decided to go their separate ways in season 21. Both have still played crucial roles in the show as individuals, but many still hope they will reconcile and respark their romance in the future.

Palmer and Knight still have feelings for each other

If you are one of the many who are pulling for a Palmer and Knight reunion, you are in luck. Steven D. Binder, an executive producer on NCIS, recently spoke on the duo during an interview with TV Insider. He revealed that the duo will be forced to work together during season 22's second half, and realize that they may just be better off together.

Binder told the outlet that Palmer will be going undercover for an upcoming case, and Knight will be tasked with keeping tabs on the doctor throughout said case. The complication? Palmer bumps into a few different women while undercover, and Knight's romantic feelings get reawakened.

"We’ll see how mature she is when Jimmy’s undercover," Binder explained. "The bell of the ball, and Knight has to watch through a camera." Normally, a detail like that would be enough to spark the fan speculation regarding a reconciled romance, but the executive producer went a step further and all but confirmed that a Palmer and Knight subplot is around the corner.

"I think you’re going to get a sense that maybe they’re better off together," Binder added. "We need to see how they’re not better off together first before we see that they’re better off together. And that’s the fun seeing how they’re not better off."

There you have it! We're gearing up for the second round of the Palmer and Knight romance, which will definitely give the second half of NCIS season 22 a boost of energy.

While it never seemed like the split between Palmer and Knight was going to be permanent, it was unclear how long the show would drag out their time apart. We're glad, and frankly, relieved, that it's going to be a quick turnaround.
