NCIS: Origins recently broke out hearts with the break up between Mike Franks and the love of his life, Tish. His desire to keep finding the man who assaulted her led her to break things off since she no longer wanted to think about that part of her life. Now the next episode will once again bring the case back, this time when it’s connected to a current case Franks and the team are investigating.

In the episode “From the Ashes,” the team are on the investigation of a woman found burned to death in her vehicle. Evidence indicates she was sexually assaulted and from one of the sneak peeks of the episode, the team determines her driver’s license was stolen.

Flight of Icarus
“Flight of Icarus” – The team investigates the death of a famed Marine commander’s son, while a pivotal part of Franks’ past involving his family is revealed, on NCIS: ORIGINS, Monday, Jan. 27 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. This is a similar scenario to what happened to Tish, which is likely going to make Mike even more determined to put the person responsible in prison. Will this lead to a reunion between the two? We know in the future Franks is alone, but for now, their love story has been beautiful to watch and fans would love to see some sort of reconciliation or closure between the two.

Not much else is know about the episode, other than it involving what happened to Tish. This has been a long-standing arc for Mike and it is fitting we will reach a conclusion as we move towards the end of the season.

One thing we did see in the sneak peeks was Vera Strickland coming up with a nickname for Gibbs that he wasn’t pleased about. Considering we saw her in an episode of NCIS where she affectionately called him Probie, we’ll likely soon find out what brings her to call him that or if she will stick with Roy.

After this next episode on March 31, there will be a break between episodes before the show returns on Monday, April 14. Then the season finale will air on April 28 and follow Gibbs as he faces the revelation of Pedro Hernandez’s murder and whether LaLa will reveal the truth that she has already discovered.

So far this has been a really good season of NCIS: Origins as we got to know new and familiar faces. With season 2 already in sight, we cannot wait to see what else is in store for the agents in time for the season one finale.
