911: Nashville is heating up in a new trailer for the third addition to the 911 universe. Starring Chris O’Donnell, the ABC trailer showcased the firefighters as they battled a massive blaze and also gave a glimpse of the faces involved in the new show.

O’Donnell’s character, Captain Don Hart, leads the crew, saying in a clip from the trailer, “We form a bond stronger than blood. As ours is a family that is forged in fire.”

As executive producer Tim Minear explained to TVLine, one of the reasons Nashville was chosen was due to the city being a huge part of the country music scene. Plus, he also said, “Tennessee is very production-friendly.”

Other executive producers include Rashad Raisani, who served as the showrunner for the second spinoff, 911: Lone Star, which aired for five seasons before being canceled, as well as Ryan Murphy, Angela Bassett, Chad Lowe, and Brad Falchuk.

Bassett portrays Athena Grant-Nash on 911, which is going into Season 9 and will air right before 911: Nashville premieres.

Other stars of the new series include Jessica Capshaw as Blythe, Don’s wife, LeAnn Rimes as Dixie, and Kimberly Williams-Paisley as Cammie, who is Blythe’s sister-in-law, so most likely Don’s sister.

In addition, the firefighters of the series include Michael Provost as Don and Blythe’s son Ryan, Hailey Kilgore as Taylor, who is described as a talented singer, Juani Feliz as Roxie, who used to be a trauma surgeon, and Hunter McVey as Blue, Dixie’s son.

Recurring stars include Tim Matheson as a man named Edward, an “utterly ruthless” individual who comes from old money, MacKenzie Porter as ER doctor Samantha Hart, and Gregory Alan Williams as Harold Foster, a Chief with the fire department.

While it appears there will be no crossover with the original 911, there was speculation that there could still be an appearance by 911’s Evan “Buck” Buckley, after actor Oliver Stark shared an Instagram story from Nashville over the summer.

Either way, 911: Nashville looks very exciting, especially with the new promo already giving us a taste of what the show will look like. One scene appears to show Don praising one of his crew, most likely his son Ryan, who will work with him at the station.

911: Nashville premieres on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 9/8c following the premiere of 911 season 9. You can catch up on the new episodes the next day on Hulu.
