If you found yourself missing Miranda Rae Mayo in the winter premiere of Chicago Fire, you’re going to love this news! After a week away, Kidd is making her way back to the Windy City!
Fans were surprised when Chicago Fire season 13 resumed on Jan. 8 with its first new episode of the new year without Mayo, who did not appear in the episode. As it was explained, Kidd was out of town in Baltimore setting up a Girls on Fire program and while it was nice to get the explanation, fans were left wondering whether this was a one-off break or if perhaps an extended break was ahead. After all, the show has been known to randomly write characters off for a few episodes here and there.
Fortunately, it seems this was indeed a short break and Kidd is not about to miss multiple episodes. Instead, she’ll be back in action for the show’s tenth episode, “Chaos Theory,” airing Jan. 15. Kidd’s return has been confirmed via newly released photos from NBC which find Truck 81’s lieutenant returning to action in a series of stills.
The first of four photos from the episode see Kidd joining her fellow 51 team members in responding to one of the week’s fires.
Another photo finds Kidd in the midst of what seems to be an interesting and perhaps intense conversation with Herrmann. While Kidd’s back is to us in the photo, Herrmann’s face seems to paint a picture that suggests he and Kidd might find themselves at odds over something that occurred on call. Or perhaps Kidd might be trying to persuade Herrmann to assist her with a task of some sort? It’s honestly hard to get a clear read.
The final photo from the episode sees Kidd walking alongside a teacher in the halls of a school, which is likely connected to one of the episode’s key storylines. As the synopsis for the episode teases, “Kidd helps a teacher going through a post-incident spin-out.”
We’ll have a better idea of what exactly Kidd will find on her plate when episode 10 arrives, but we’re happy to see Kidd is back after just one episode away and can’t wait to see what the episode will bring for her now that she’s back! And it seems like we're in store for an eventful episode!
Not only will Kidd be back, but Cruz's actions are about to catch up with him it seems as the synopsis for the episode teases that Severide is forced to investigate one of his own Squad members. Given the hole Cruz seems to have dug himself into, we're starting to worry if there's a way out for him and we're eager to see how Severide will react to everything when the truth begins coming to light.
Don’t miss a new episode of Chicago Fire on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 9/8c on NBC!
